Many families face challenges as they introduce water therapy to their child with autism. Transitioning out of enjoyable activities can be especially tough for these children, leading to stress and meltdowns. However, with the innovative strategies used by therapists like Karen Reckamp and Yifat Cohen, transitions can become smoother and more manageable. From picture schedules to creative water games, these techniques help children embrace change while making therapy enjoyable and effective. Water activities provide a unique and engaging way to support skill development and emotional growth. https://wix.to/HbfD5sh #aquatictherapy #hydrotherapy #aquatictherapyuniversity #waterrehab

You did it! Thanks to your advocacy, the Autism CARES Act has been amended to "...reflect the entire population of individuals with autism spectrum disorder, including the full range of cognitive, communicative, behavioral, and adaptive functioning, as well as co-occurring conditions and needs for support and services." Much more advocacy is needed as the bill progresses through Congress, but this is an exciting start. Learn more at 🔗https://lnkd.in/eaNE39Zx

A more compassionate world for all... Today, we're celebrating World Autism Awareness Day, and all the autistic individuals making the world a better place for animals ♥️ We want The Humane League UK to be a space where every person is valued and given what they need to thrive. We want this because it's simply the right thing to do, AND because it makes us a stronger and more effective team - resulting in an ever greater impact for animals. So we’re striving to keep improving: we engage in regular learning around neurodiversity, have clear ways for team members and prospective candidates to request reasonable accommodations, and have recently started a neurodiversity peer support group which meets regularly. Compassion breeds compassion. The more compassionate and understanding we are with one another as human beings, the more compassion we will have to share with animals. #WorldAutismAwarenessDay #AutismAwareness #Neurodiversity #NeurodiverseWorkplace

How to thrive with neurodiversity: I’ll show you the way. Entrepreneur, coach, and motivational speaker.
Did you know that around 15% to 20% of the world’s population is considered to be neurodivergent, meaning that their brain functions, learns, and processes information differently from the majority? Only 21% of autistic adults are in full-time work. You would like to think that in the year 2024 that this number would have improved, but it remains the same percentage and has done for years despite the awareness that is already out there. The percentage will remain the same until neurotypical individuals change their behaviour and meet half way, as well as quit stereotyping and understand each neurodivergent individual is unique. I am the founder of Neurodiversity Inspire, I have also started my author journey by writing a book, which I’ve called Neurodiversity Matters: How to Understand and Embrace It. In my book, Neurodiversity Matters: How to Understand and Embrace It, I share my insights and experiences on what neurodiversity is, why it is important, and how it can benefit schools, colleges, universities, workplaces, individuals, communities, and society. I am looking for a professional publisher who can help me bring my book to a wider audience and make a positive impact in the world. If you know anyone who might be interested, please let me know or share this post with them. Thank you so much. #author #neurodiversity #autistic #entrepreneurship #motivationalspeaker

Number 2 of 5 WAYS TO CELEBRATE AUTISTIC PRIDE DAY "Recognized on June 18th, Autistic Pride Day celebrates the unique strengths, talents, and experiences of individuals on the autism spectrum. This day is celebrated as an autistic community event: it originated from and is still led by people with autism, and serves as a powerful reminder to promote acceptance, understanding, and inclusion. #2. Attend Autistic Pride Day Events: Look for local Autistic Pride Day events in your community and attend them. These gatherings offer opportunities to meet individuals on the spectrum, learn from their experiences, and celebrate their accomplishments. By actively participating, you can get to know people in the community." Can't find one- create one, see a need, fill a need. Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/ek9cDxWF

We cannot thank our fans and partners enough for coming out to support us in the elements for our first two home matches. The rain couldn't stop us from getting all six points, and more importantly, it didn't stop you from helping us hold down the fortress. Let this video be a (very, very wholesome) representation for how we feel about our community after our March home games. We'll see everyone back out on April 13th for Autism Acceptance Night presented by Hackensack Meridian Health and our match against Chicago Fire FC... ...rain or shine 💪
