Making this transition while her children were at pivotal ages of 10, 5, and 1, Casey initially had concerns about missing out on precious moments of their childhoods. Feelings have no place in business. ESPECIALLY for women business owners. What to do instead: I've been in spirituality and personal growth for 9.5 years and I've seen hundreds of gifted business owners throw in the towel over the years. Do this instead of quitting because quitting is a pattern of behavior that will repeat until it is resolved: 1. Address how you feel about a client or a business choice on your own before you act or respond. Showing up with heightened emotions is irresponsible and harmful to both sides. 2. If you want to succeed, you need to have standards and boundaries. Standards take care of the "charging your worth" aspect, while boundaries enforce your standards. 3. What's happening in your business is a direct reflection of what's happening within you. If you address your inner world first, your life and business will fall in line. 4. The moment that you want to quit or give up, is the moment you need to double down. A pattern of quitting will always tell you that you've done enough when you feel like you want to go bigger and better. 5. The bigger the goal, the more deeply your patterns of success and failure will need to be addressed and they won't go quietly. Getting out of deeply embedded patterns of behavior is not easy and this is why so few people even attempt to go bigger and better, and even less succeed. It will never work ❌️ Sounds stupid. That's not a thing. These were comments people made 3 years ago when I said I was going to become a personal stylist. They were also things I told myself. That's one of those nonsense jobs that doesn't really exist, right?! Well... women's struggles with what to wear to work very much exist ✅️ Women's dreams of making more money exist ✅️ Lack of self-confidence and feeling invisible in rooms we want to own, exists ✅️ Time-wasting, money-draining wardrobes stuffed with things we never wear very much exist ✅️ What I DIDN'T see existing at that point, was anyone addressing the connection. Or the hypocrisy of how women are taught to buy things they don't need to fix problems they don't have... [whilst they have less money than men because they're paid less, are taught not to ask for more, have to take more career breaks because parenthood is treated as a mother-problem and retire with significantly less than men]... And they're judged NO MATTER WHAT. Don't care? Then your scruffy or you've let yourself go and you're overlooked for the promotion. Do care? You're vain and vapid or labelled as the office b*tch. And this is allll happening within a system you can't opt out of, by virtue of the fact that every day, you wear clothes. Getting dressed is the one thing you have to do for work.... You're judged on it, it impacts your performance, most of us aren't born with a style gene... And yet it's the one thing you NEVER get any formal training for. So when you're: ✅️ Great at your job ✅️ Constantly uplevelling your skills Having a wardrobe that works FOR YOU puts you one step ahead of everybody else 💥 This is why I always say my job isn't to help you look fabulous [although you will 💅] - it's to help you make money. And this is why my clients are getting awesome results, like: ➡️ been promoted to bigger jobs within a few months of working with me ➡️ have hit their first £100k business year ➡️ Landed contracts worth ££££ It's been THREE years of doing this work. So as we head into 2024, I want to remind you - Business isn't an overnight success. It takes showing up everyday with rock-solid belief in what you're doing... ESPECIALLY when it feels like nothing is happening. Because Linkedin is full of all these big claims. And I don't want you to get caught in the comparison trap this year. Most of it isn't real. What IS real is the difference you can make to your clients. Don't you just hate it when someone doesn't take you seriously? It can be lonely and tough running a business and the last thing you want to hear from your nearest and dearest is that they think it's a hobby. I remember telling a family member that I was going to quit my corporate job and set up on my own. He couldn't understand why I wouldn't take the kids out of nursery and run my business whilst looking after them! Don't get me wrong, I'd have done that if I had to, but I was fortunate enough that I didn't and I had already been building my business. But what would the difference have been in doing that to setting up alongside a job. Looking after kids is full on (most of the time) running a business is full on most of the time. Why does society expect women (in particular) to do both?? Ran over!
