The Suzuki Kharkhoda plant is nearing completion and is set to open soon. Upon its inauguration, Suzuki will have the capability to manufacture 2.6 million vehicles annually in India. The company has set an ambitious target to increase its production capacity to 4 million by 2026, marking a significant shift in focus to India after 40 years of operations primarily centered in Japan. In contrast, Mahindra is planning to boost its production capacity to 800,000 units by next year. Hyundai is also set to enhance its total production capacity to 1 million by 2026, following its acquisition in Talaegaon. Tata currently has a production capacity of 800,000 but is not fully utilizing it. With the addition of the Tamil Nadu plant, they aim to surpass the 1 million mark. Both Toyota and Kia are planning expansions next year, targeting a capacity of 400,000 units. Additionally, Toyota is set to build a new factory in Maharashtra. Suzuki Kharkhoda plant is almost ready for opening. Once opened, Suzuki would be able to produce 26 lakh Cars in India every year Suzuki aims to reach 40 lakh capacity by 2026. Suzuki finally after 40 years in India has decided to make India its centre of attention and moved away from Japan as principle. Mahindra on other hand is planning to increase capacity to 800,000 by next year Hyundai will increase their total capacity to 1 million by 2026 with Talaegaon acquisition. Tata already has a capacity of 800,000 but is not able utilise it fully. With Tamil nadu plant they are planning to cross 1 million as well Toyota and Kia are expanding next year too to try and reach 400,000 capacity. Maruti Suzuki, a leading automobile manufacturer in India, is set to unveil its first electric vehicle (EV) at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in January. The company, which is a joint venture with Suzuki, has been working on an EV assembly line at a new production facility in Hansalpur, Gujarat. This facility is expected to increase the company's annual output to 1 million units with an investment of ₹32 billion. The upcoming EV is a small SUV, previewed by the eVX concept at the Auto Expo 2023. It is built on a dedicated EV platform and is expected to have dimensions of 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height. The concept version features a 60 kWh battery pack that offers a range of up to 550 km. Suzuki has indicated that the production version could have all-wheel drive capability and will be positioned as a rival to the Hyundai Creta EV. Tata Motors is to manufacture JLR EVs in Tamil Nadu by 2025! This will be the first time a premium vehicle will be completely manufactured in India, rather than just assembled. Here are 5 key Points you need to know about it: 1. Location: The manufacturing unit will be set up on over 400 acres of land near Panapakkam in Ranipet district, Tamil Nadu. 2. Investment: The project involves a substantial investment of Rs 9,000 crore. Jaguar Land Rover will exclusively produce EVs, while Tata Motors will manufacture a wider range of vehicles, including hybrids, at the same facility. 3. Exports: The plant's proximity to Chennai and Ennore ports is expected to boost exports. 4. Strong suppliers: Tata Motors will likely get parts from Hyundai Motor India Ltd. and Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd as well as from its own suppliers. A few reports said The state government will help support this supply network. 5. Economic Corridor: The manufacturing unit will be an important part of the Rs 18,000 crore Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, which is one of the 5 large industrial corridors being developed in India. Currently, Jaguar Land Rover's factory in Pune puts together disassembled units of the Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Sport, Evoque, Jaguar F-PACE, and Land Rover Discovery Sport. This new move is expected to boost India's position as a global manufacturing hub for electric vehicles and create new jobs in the state. The 3 millionth landmark vehicle was part of a shipment of 1,053 units that sailed from Gujarat’s Pipavav port comprising models like Celerio, Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Ciaz, Dzire and S-Presso. Maruti Suzuki commenced export of vehicles from India in 1986. The first large consignment of 500 cars was shipped to Hungary in September 1987. The company clocked the 1 millionth milestone in vehicle exports in FY 2012-13, followed by the next million in little less than 9 years in FY 2020-21. The progression from 2 million to 3 million cumulative exports was achieved in just 3 years and 9 months, making it the fastest million for Maruti Suzuki.
