The Suzuki Kharkhoda plant is nearing completion and is set to open soon. Upon its inauguration, Suzuki will have the capability to manufacture 2.6 million vehicles annually in India. The company has set an ambitious target to increase its production capacity to 4 million by 2026, marking a significant shift in focus to India after 40 years of operations primarily centered in Japan. In contrast, Mahindra is planning to boost its production capacity to 800,000 units by next year. Hyundai is also set to enhance its total production capacity to 1 million by 2026, following its acquisition in Talaegaon. Tata currently has a production capacity of 800,000 but is not fully utilizing it. With the addition of the Tamil Nadu plant, they aim to surpass the 1 million mark. Both Toyota and Kia are planning expansions next year, targeting a capacity of 400,000 units. Additionally, Toyota is set to build a new factory in Maharashtra.
