In cold exposure a person gets into very cold water for a few short minutes to experience health benefits the rest of the day. In automotive you, your advisors, parts team get a day of training and the next day they are back to their tasks. They were exposed to training! Just like the cold exposure - one time does not give lasting effects! Effective training has 4 parts: Great content Practice Repetition Accountability For training to be successful it needs to be a system that is consistently working with your team. We miss the 2 key parts in the middle - practice and repetition. We exposed them to training and then jump to accountability of the team when we actually failed to provide consistent practice and repetition. Why spend thousands to advertise to customers that will be chased away or not helped by a poorly trained team member? Cairns and Townsville this week - including the launch of another dealership! Training can be an uncomfortable situation for anyone, regardless of experience. Some feel that if management say it is required that it means they aren’t good enough, and some feel like they are being micro managed. It all comes down to the delivery of the training, data and experience - all of which our team offer and it really shows in how receptive all the sales people we have met, have been (even when they have been apprehensive at the start). Whether the salespeople have 30 years experience or 3 months experience - it’s nice to see that sales people are open to a conversation of making small changes that can lead to a big result and understanding the big picture. #salescoaching #development #training #salestraining #automotive

It was an honor for me to be able to deliver the C-SALES Sequence 2 training, where the topic of learning for 3 days was creating the best customer contact using the DISC approach method from the first begining day to the last day. As a trainer, this is the first time I found a training material for sales consultants that uses this method in great depth. Generally, behavioral style (DISC) material is usually given during salesmanship training as basic knowledge (1-2 hours duration in a training). This shows that Mercedes-Benz, as a premium and luxury brand, is really concerned about the experience it creates for their prospective customers when interacting with their Sales Consultants.
