What is the BGP Originator ID? When we use Route Reflectors, we bypass the iBGP split horizon rule, a rule used to prevent routing loops. When we use Route Reflectors, we need another mechanism to avoid routing loops. The Originator ID attribute is part of that loop-prevention mechanism. Just finished up another lab on Routing Protocols. Configured EIGRP, RIP, OSPF, and actually figured out the significance of Metrics and AD. Established some adjacencies, passive/loopback interfaces, and static routes - the best part was watching certain routes chosen over others for desired paths.
