The Dream Machine - 3854 #AIArt Prompt: Generate a pixel art illustration showcasing a steampunk setting. The scene should teem with an atmosphere of excitement and adventure. Since the spring semester is about to start, I thought it was time to share my fall studio final - Ross Marble Shrine. A short animation was made to emphasize the experiential qualities of the space by illustrating the movement of light across the surfaces. The animation also serves as a tool for showing paths of circulation. While drawings would usually be sufficient in portraying feelings, key experiential factors like sound are missed. The sound of wind blowing through the trees, bugs and birds singing, and rushing water sounds echoing off the building really bring you into the space. This project built upon the midterm project as we moved from small scale models, to larger sculptures, and finally a full scale building based on these previous forms. The design of the building was made in response to what we considered architectures concern to be - which in my case was community, shelter, and monumentality. Testing out in public: I'll share a few clips today from the new #RunwayGen3 model using my own images, some created in digital art programs or using Midjourney. I'm not in love with this first test for #growahome, for obvious reasons - it'll show you the state of the technology and how easy it is to break it overall. It got 2 out of 5 stars. #AITools #WIP So far I'm having uneven results and encourage you to post links to your own tests and sites here so we can share feedback and testing out in public. Not all tools are right for all jobs, and so far I'm breaking Runway more than nailing it down for the fine control I'm seeking in shot development. A while ago, I came across a photograph of The House with Two Lives by nabil gholam architects, taken by Joe Kesrouan, and it inspired me to recreate the image. Using Rhino, Grasshopper, and Blender Cycles, I aimed to capture a similar atmosphere while focusing my own interpretation on the lighting and mood. Breakdown of the Barren Landscape 2 hour build that I showed in yesterday's Vista post. 1 - Found an interesting angle of the landscape. Began placing basic primitives (cylinders, cubes) to take the form of the buildings I was imagining. I work better sketching out in 3D first rather than paper. To make this process very quick and easy to change I use simple shapes. 2 - Added clouds and adjusted the material to the sky colors. Also set a few focal points, with the double towered building in the distance and the 2 towers close up. It is important to me to define the POI (points of interest) in a vista early on so I know the composition will work. 3 - Added low lying fog to help separate the layers of structures I knew I was going to have later. 4 - More buildings to fill out the blank space on the right side. 5 - I wanted a higher importance building as a focal point so I added lights to this tower on the right.
