🤝 Relationships + Initiative = Success 🤝 A recent win at Titan Talent is a reminder of how much relationships matter in this business. My teammate, Kyle Tinnion, MBA, was searching for weeks to fill a key role that had been open for months with our client (and some competitors). During his search a new HR Director was onboarded and became his new point of contact for all staffing needs with this client. Kyle took the initiative to set up an in-person meeting with the new HR Director, building a strong rapport right from the start. While working on this search, Kyle found the perfect candidate—right skills, right personality. But there was one catch: she had applied directly to the company a few months ago (when the search was being ran by someone else) and never heard back. 😬 Instead of letting it go, Kyle had an honest conversation with the HR Director about the situation, explaining how the candidate had slipped through the cracks. Thanks to the strong relationship and trust he’d built, our client agreed to review the resume and pay a fee if the candidate was hired. Fast forward a few weeks—she’s now signed and accepted the offer. 🎉 None of this would have happened without the solid connection and transparency Kyle brought to the table. Still, like everyone, I feel the strain of a constantly shifting economic landscape and a highly competitive war for talent. However, I consider these challenges to be motivating. One way we've grown our team is through employee referrals. We already have a great team in place, and we know that great employees know other great people. When they refer someone, it's because they know this candidate will fit the role. We value those referrals because they are a testament to the positive work environment we've created. Our current agents, who know what it takes to succeed in their roles, would only refer people if they believed in us. Belongingness is a huge factor in employee retention. Since referred candidates already know someone in the company, it's easier for them to adapt and feel they are part of the team. One word of advice: While it's easy to speed up the hiring process since these referrals come somewhat pre-vetted, still have them go through your interview or assessment process.
