Hi, I'm Doctor Chandler. I am an orthopedic surgeon at Avala Orthopedics operating at Avala Hospital. I was inspired to be a physician largely due to interest in the healthcare field. I played a lot of sports when I was younger, had my fair share of orthopedic injuries. I had ACL reconstruction at 18. So when I learned that there was a specialty that dealt with those kind of injuries, I was naturally drawn to that. I started off undergraduate at West Point and then. While I was there I tore my ACL, had to have surgery and ended U transferring to LSU where I graduated with a degree in microbiology. From there I went to LSU medical school in New Orleans, and after that I did orthopedic surgery residency at Tulane University. My favorite part about being a physician, and specifically an orthopedic surgeon, is that I really love what I do. I love the subject matter, I love the field of orthopedics. I love treating the different body parts, and the fact that I can do that and help people while I'm doing that is just amazing. My goal as a position. Is to try to connect my patients and formulate the right treatment plan for each patient and you know, connect and find the best way to achieve their goals. One of the things I love about working out Avala is really the patient response that I get. I hear it all the time. You know, patients love coming to the hospital. They love the way they're treated. They come to me and they say thank you. For, for, you know, taking me there, I've never experienced anything like that. And so I really enjoy hearing that from my patients. Outside of work, I like to workout, I like to play tennis, I like to travel, go to the mountains, I enjoy hiking and biking, but generally try to stay active as much as I can.
