It’s about to get a lot easier to make dedicated gaming blockchains. The Avalanche network will soon implement a new system for spinning up L1s. No longer will builders need to lock up 2,000 AVAX per validator. Instead, Avalanche L1s will be on a pay-as-you-go system. This is a big deal for game developers. Eliminating the high initial costs, developers are more free to experiment. Even smaller games can be given their own dedicated blockchain, while still being interoperable with other Avalanche L1s. That means they remain connected to the larger liquidity of the entire Avalanche network. And can easily send assets, such as NFT game pieces or in-game tokens, across different L1 networks natively. And creating their game’s L1 could be as easy as building a website. Avalanche will be giving builders the means to take bigger swings with more games. Which means we all benefit, as the quality and variety of web3 games grows. Game changer.
