These two transformative projects have reclaimed some of the largest parking craters in the urban core, and helped to fill the last remaining gaps along Euclid Avenue, Downtown Cleveland's premier retail corridor. Once home to the lavish Hippodrome—a grand theater with seating for up to 3,500 and considered among the world’s finest playhouses—Euclid Avenue lost ‘The Hipp’ to the wrecking ball in 1981, leaving the site as a parking lot for 40 years. Today, that site is transformed as Skyline 776, a 304-unit, 23-story mixed-use tower that adds to the existing 2,500+ residential units and a growing mix of shops, restaurants, and other amenities along the Euclid corridor. A few blocks west, construction is nearly complete on the new global headquarters of Sherwin-Williams. The 36-story tower replaces surface parking lots off of Public Square and will soon house 3,100+ employees in the heart of Downtown Cleveland.
