Their collective efforts are strengthening communities across Southern California.

As we continue AVB’s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we’re spotlighting members of our Latinx Associate Resource Group, LEAD. Learn more about Marelyn Arizaga, MHRM, HR Manager in New Jersey, and what motivates her in the workplace: "Caring for and supporting my loved ones—including my husband, son, and two stepchildren—is a powerful motivator that drives me each day. Hosting unique events is one of the many ways we build a strong sense of community for our residents. Recently, AVA RiNo in Denver hosted an exciting Mario Kart tournament, where the winner took home a Nintendo Switch! Friendly competition, good food, and other fun prizes made it an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.

Members of AvalonBay's Black Associate Coalition (BAC) recently participated in a walk to raise awareness for Sickle Cell Disease in Washington, D.C. The event, hosted by Howard University's Center For Sickle Cell Disease, aimed to raise funds and improve the public’s understanding to support the fight against this condition, which represents the most common genetic blood disease in the United States.  Thank you to this team for personifying our Spirt of Caring core value.
