Nashville General may be 134 years old, but it leads the way in innovation and accessibility. Through the Webb hub and spoke model, individuals at risk are connected to healthy food in the hospital food pharmacy, health literacy and educational support through their faith communities, and medical care to prevent crisis visits to the Emergency Department. High-quality primary care for everyone.
Visiting our rural clinic in Hobart, OK today. It was an honor to have OK State Senator Brent Howard and State Representative Kendrix Gerrid as our guests. Our partnership with Variety Care is bringing vital primary care to rural locations where the economics of traditional primary care make services inaccessible.

Picture this: A 17-year-old driver, trapped in a vehicle after a catastrophic head-on collision. The Fire Department races to the scene, only to find an unconscious patient spiraling into cardiac arrest. The grim reality? In numerous American cities, this teenager's survival odds would be tragically low. Yet, there's hope on the horizon. Nearly 100 cities nationwide have initiated a pre-hospital whole blood program, a game-changing move that flips the survival rate from practically zero to a remarkable 90%. In our forthcoming series, we're focusing on the vital role of whole blood in pre-hospital care - and its dramatic potential to save young lives. In Part 1, we outline the compelling rationale behind whole blood programs, even within pediatric care. Dr. Peter Antevy will take us deep into real-world case studies from transformative cities such as New Orleans, San Antonio, and the trailblazing counties of Broward and Palm Beach in South Florida. Each has forged a path in their whole blood programs, demonstrating life-saving results that were previously unthinkable. Through this video series, we aim to ignite a nationwide call to action. It's time for cities, counties, and even entire states to embrace the power of whole blood programs, paving the way for countless lives to be rescued each year. Here is an outstanding example of thought leadership in action. Physician SME using data and personal anecdotes to increase understanding about life-saving administration of blood by paramedics in the prehospital setting. The impact of the video, in my opinion, is a compelling companion to the evidence contained in scientific journals. Here’s what worked in this approach: ✅ Well known physician SME speaker. ✅ Simple video w/ relevant graphics. ✅ Multiple examples of social proof ✅ Convincing use of science. ✅ Shared a vision for change ✅ Included the why & how. ✅ 3-episode series. ✅ Inspirational. Stay tuned for episodes 2 and 3. This is a Masterclass in educating the market. Check out our article in the ACLP Bulletin examining practical ways to address issues of internships and our current staffing crisis.
Check out the article Genevieve Lowry, Lindsey Murphy, PhD, CCLS and I have in the latest The Association of Child Life Professionals, Inc. Bulletin. “The authors recognize and value the historical roots child life has in healthcare settings and the services provided in these settings. However, it is time to equally recognize that child life services, rooted in the child life competencies, are not setting-specific, and therefore the pathway to child life must also reflect this reality.” Find the full article here: https://lnkd.in/gnwDtmt7
