George Condo’s Psychological Cubism presents myriad states a person can embody. For those wanting to experience his work in person, at Condo’s new exhibition The Mad and the Lonely at a former slaughterhouse on Hydra Island, a number of small-scale paintings and sculptures selected from the artist’s personal collection offers depictions of characters rejected by society, lingering between a state of madness and loneliness, captured in the abstract yet humanoid-like manner the artist is known for. BENJAMIN ROUSE Benjamin Rouse is an American artist known for his evocative works examining entropy, illusion, and personal acceptance. A self-taught artist, his imagery is strongly influenced by the iconography and rituals he experienced within the Mormon temple as a child. Utilizing mirrors, water, and illusory compositions, Rouse achieves surreal imagery entirely through analog techniques— a practice he describes as "outsourcing to nature." For this reason, he is as much a technical innovator pushing the boundaries of ordinary material as he is an artist in pursuit of sincere, creative expression. https://lnkd.in/eGQBPRAc

Today’s Soul Advice: Art is an extremely valuable form of human expression, yet our society struggles with the concept of value. We try to categorize art and put certain artists above others. In fact, though, all art is beautifully important so long as it is meaningful to someone, whether that be the creator or an onlooker. It doesn’t matter if it is macaroni art or a Van Gogh. Allow your soul to be expressed… in your own special style.

Cult images never represent the personality or experiences of the individual artist, but rather the cultural ethos and sacred framework through which each deity expresses itself in the material world. https://lnkd.in/gdMhjcR7

Abstract art can be a more challenging concept for some. In this video I share some thoughts on why abstraction can actually be easier to connect to than a lot of other types of art.
