Sunstone Metals Limited (ASX:STM) managing director Patrick Duffy joins Proactive’s Tylah Tully to discuss the new discovery of a new gold-copper porphyry, the Copete target, at the Bramaderos Project in southern Ecuador. This discovery expands the mineralised area to a 2-kilometre by 1.8-kilometre cluster, supporting the potential for a large open-pit mining operation. The Copete target complements an earlier porphyry exploration target estimate of 3.3-8.6 million ounces of #gold equivalent, indicating room for an increase in the target. Duffy says Copete is strategically located near the 2.7 million-ounce Brama-Alba resource and the Melonal exploration target, strengthening Bramaderos' potential as a world-class, long-term mining prospect. Initial trench sampling at Copete has revealed substantial surface mineralisation, with one trench returning 113 metres at 0.64 g/t gold equivalent. The Buffalo Ankerite mine is in the southern part of the Porcupine gold district of northern Ontario. The mine has a history of exploration and development reaching back to 1911, and has been operated continuously since 1932. From 1932 to 1942 a total of 510,874 oz. gold was produced from the mine. In 1941 the production was 71,654 oz. from 448,621 tons of ore.With few exceptions, the ore-bearing veins did not crop out. They were discovered during the prospecting of the prominent outcrops of barren or low-grade quartz-carbonate breccia near the veins.

Based on the KR1 and KR2 deposits, #BCA has outlined a A$84 million development that should generate annual cash flow of $46 million, giving a payback under two years of the 16-year life. The metrics deliver a pre-tax net present value of $340 million and a 70% internal rate of return, with life of mine revenue at $2.8 billion and earnings of $654 million. Sunstone Metals Limited (ASX:STM) managing director Patrick Duffy is back in the Proactive studio to discuss an imminent drilling campaign over the priority Limon discovery at the Bramaderos project in southern Ecuador. The precious and base metals explorer will begin diamond drilling next week at the gold and silver prospect, where it will target an area of known high-grade mineralisation. Recent trenching in this area produced promising results, such as 14.95 metres at 4.8 g/t gold, including 6.2 metres at 10.7 g/t, 3.9 metres at 8.4 g/t gold, and a high-grade segment of 1.9 metres at 16.2 g/t. Sunstone’s initial drilling campaign will focus on the Central Shoot and Western Target, about 1 kilometre apart, suggesting the potential for a substantial shallow high-grade resource at Limon.
