3 Life Lessons HIKING teaches me.
1. Focus on the bigger picture.
There is no satisfying feeling than the moment you make it to the top of the mountain, with the most refreshing breeze of air flowing on your face. And then when you take a step back, you will see the bigger picture - you will realize all the small tree and rock and even the longest lake or the powerful waterfall down there - they are only a part of the whole picture.
All your mistakes, failures, setbacks in life do not matter as much as you think they are - they are only a part of your journey,
2. You climb to the top not to look down on people, but to INSPIRE them.
Too often people forget that the reason we climb the corporate ladder or make it to the top is to motivate other people that THEY CAN DO IT.
Always be the true leader, the one who influence others, that when people look at you they say, “Because of her, I refuse to give up.” - That’s the best feeling in winning in life.
3. The journey matters - the memories you make climbing to the top are priceless.
Have you ever climbed with your friends and their dogs? All the stops you make along the way to rest, to give the dogs some treats and waters, it makes the journey longer, but much more memorable.
Remember to slow down and make genuine friendships with people around you, people who are there when you are climbing, those who believe in you, those who support you, or those who just happen to cross your path. They matter - the memories matter.
Because one day, you will realize that memories are the only things you take with you when you leave the earth. Make them, make a lot of them.
Say hi to people. Comment on their post. Show them a little support, show them kindness. And in case they forget, remind them again.
Ask yourself this question: What is the thing that brings out the inner child in you?
