🌟 Celebrating Our September HEROs of the Month! 🌟 For the month of September, we're honoring our exceptional team members who stepped up during recent natural disasters with resilience, courage, and an unshakeable commitment to both our guests and each other. ✨ Nicole Batchelor from our Customer Experience team led with unwavering dedication, ensuring guests’ safety, communication, and support in Asheville, even under the most challenging conditions. Her patience and focus in handling difficult situations made an indelible impact on our team and guests. ✨ The Lake Norman Team—Brett Allen, Morgan Allen, and Eddie Saldana—went above and beyond. From sheltering colleagues and their families to making an 11-hour journey with supplies to aid first responders and stranded guests, their selflessness exemplifies true heroism. Special shoutout to Eddie, whose skill, humor, and heart kept everyone going in tough times. ✨ We’re proud to work alongside these incredible people and support our Asheville team—Jen Alonso, Laura Bowers, Peter Janss, and Bryan Rejzer —as they rebuild. Their resilience is a testament to our collective strength at AvantStay. We are so lucky to have such a committed and selfless team that continues to go above and beyond for each other and our guests every day.

Thank you Daniel Hires 🌍 for sharing this powerful piece! “Restoration, or healing, is difficult. It’s not about reading the stars and lighting candles, nor about hoping for the best: it’s facing truths about ourselves and the context in which we operate. The leadership that this calls for involves shining a spotlight on the causal effects of our actions, taking responsibility for them, and repairing the relationships we have with one another.” https://lnkd.in/enk7xxjb

Everyone remembered the Nilla Wafers and taco nights. Had the honor of attending a celebration of life for a 99- and 103-year-old couple who passed within a year of one another. As I didn’t know the couple well, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the service or to be as deeply moved as I was by the stories that were shared. I was struck by how much of my time I spend thinking about things that won’t make much of a difference in the impact I make during my short time here. As I think about the legacy I leave, I will look to Marg and Lloyd for the example they set. My takeaways: • What their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren remembered most was their love, the way they lived their lives, and how they treated others. • Memories were mostly about quality time spent with family (often over tacos and Nilla wafers). Traditions matter. • What they said mattered much less than what they did. How does this relate to my approach to work and life? • The relationships I build along the way are worth far more than the title or the paycheck. • The traditions we create don’t have to be Instaworthy, they just have to be real. • The moments matter. Between coworkers, friends and families. Take the time, make the connections. Everyone wins.

Way to go Maeve! Thanks for sharing your talents, story and leadership.
As a child, Maeve Flanagan frequently visited Con Edison where her father worked for an impressive 46 years! Inspired by her father's love for the fiddle, Maeve continues to play today. In addition, her family's legacy extends further, her grandfather also dedicated 30 years to the company. Let's keep celebrating this remarkable Con Ed family heritage! #IrishHeritageMonth
