“It's about understanding where the person is coming from. It's about understanding what they're doing today and hearing them, listening to them. And only then can you really say, ‘Let's talk about how we can utilize this to meet your needs.’ You need to bridge that gap so that people feel good about moving away from what they know to something that's unknown.” You should always appreciate the power of empathy and active listening. 33 episodes and 1 year in, I’ve learned a few things including how to get out of my comfort zone… as a podcast host of The Distribution by Juniper Square And I’m about to do it again with the launch of our YouTube channel. PLEASE SUBSCRIBE to watch every episode and guest. - Enjoy the journey. Most of my guests have not had an intentional career path. Most have many twists and turns before arriving at their current role. These formative experiences shape how they view the markets today. - Learn by listening. Guests are very willing to share successes and failures. One of the easiest ways to learn is to seek knowledge from others. Be curious, ask questions and don’t assume you know the answers - Listening and looking at yourself talk is (very) uncomfortable. It took practice but I have become more comfortable listening to myself interview guests…now I need to get comfortable viewing!
Happy birthday to our podcast, The Distribution by Juniper Square! In our first year, host Brandon Sedloff and the team produced 33 episodes with some of the biggest names in the private markets, including CBRE, BentallGreenOak, a16z, IREI, and LaSalle, to name a few. Thanks to our listeners, we became a top 10% podcast in less than four months! As we begin our second year, we’re excited to share that all your favorite interviews can now be found on YouTube! Subscribe to our channel now to see past guests, including Dave Eisenberg, Ilene Goldfine, and Michael Phillips, and watch out for future episodes. We’re already working on the next five interviews with more leaders from across the private markets. → https://lnkd.in/gSmiTqn7
