In today's economy and evolving work culture, I find it essential to reconsider the term "hard worker." Historically, being a hard worker meant punctuality, diligence, and fulfilling job responsibilities as outlined in an employment contract. However, in the current climate, such individuals are often labeled as lazy or quiet quitters. To be considered a hard worker now, one must consistently go the extra mile and be an exemplary team player. This often entails taking on additional responsibilities and duties beyond one's own role, which is unfair to both the individual and their colleagues. Moreover, this extra effort typically goes uncompensated, straying far from the initial terms of employment. While occasional favors and support for team members are part of any collaborative environment, when these become daily expectations, it crosses into exploitation.
