🌟Seeking help and overcoming an Addiction is a superpower💥 Reflecting on the journey of the beloved actor, Matthew Perry, who brilliantly portrayed the character of Chandler Bing in the iconic sitcom 'Friends', it's impossible not to admire his strength and resilience. Perry's battle with addiction was a dark chapter in his life, but his courage to confront his demons and seek help is a testament to his character. Perry's struggle was not hidden from the public eye, but rather, he chose to use his platform to raise awareness about the realities of addiction. His honesty and openness about his journey towards recovery have been a beacon of hope for many who are fighting similar battles. I personally known many people in my life who lost the battle of #addiction. I want to prevent others from losing the people they love. This is why I love what I do! His journey is a powerful reminder that addiction does not discriminate - it can affect anyone, regardless of their status or success. More importantly, it underscores the significance of the recovery model in mental health. Recovery is not just about the cessation of symptoms, but about building a meaningful, fulfilling life despite the challenges. Matthew Perry's story is a testament to the power of resilience, the importance of seeking help, and the potential for recovery. It's a reminder that it's okay to not be okay, and that seeking help is not a sign of weakness, but a sign of strength. Let's take a moment to appreciate Matthew Perry, not just for his talent and his unforgettable role in 'Friends', but for his bravery in sharing his story and inspiring others on their journey to recovery. #MatthewPerry #RecoveryIsPossible #MentalHealthAwareness
RIP Matthew Perry. As my colleague William Moyers said, the lessons within Matthew Perry's book--of resilience and community support--and the example Perry set in his recovery and bravery in documenting it, should still hold true regardless of the circumstances of his death.
Matthew Perry starred in a hit show. But for those fighting addiction, his greatest legacy is his memoir

ntergenerational trauma and patterns are shaping our society, and often not in a good way. However, this can not be approached with judgment and criticism but with empathy and compassion. Recognising this is so important not only for our mental health but also for raising awareness of the importance of processing and healing such traumas so that we DO NOT pass them on to the next generation or, at the very least, attempt to dilute them. If we are going to heal the deep wounds inflicted by colonisation, we must be able to confront the truth about the atrocities committed. We must accept that this amounted to genocide. We need to understand the ongoing impacts of the trauma experienced, and we need to care about having a better future together. This is not about blame, it is about healing and ensuring that the things that result in harm and trauma are not repeated… We are seeing the benefits, the capacity for healing, that comes from truth-telling through processes that are happening all over the world. The Sami Truth-telling Commission is one example. Victoria, through the Yoorook Commission are confronting their colonial history together. We need a national commitment to truth-telling so that as a collective we can address our differences, and better understand the ongoing impacts of colonialisation - not just on First Nations, but on Australia as a whole.

We are in a war. A war that many of us don't even perceive. Spiritual warfare is not a fun topic for most people, but one that is very real and one I have personally walked through massively in the past years. I wanted to share something super powerful that I have learned about spiritual warfare; agreement and belief is everything. Our mind is the battle ground and our mouth is the weapon. I feel such a passion about fighting against lies from the enemy that keep so many of us bound in mental prisons. Our minds are the active battlefield that we all face daily. And what we do with those attacking thoughts determines if we have victory or not. As followers of Jesus it is paramount that we understand there are 3 voices we need to filter every thought through. A thought is either from ourselves, from God or from Satan. I am sharing 7 steps you can take to wage war against tormenting mental attacks and anxiety on my blog today and I believe this will help you massively in your walk to freedom and abundant life. https://lnkd.in/g_qEC5tz
