Avelo Airlines, a growing startup carrier, is launching two new international nonstop flights from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in 2025. The new routes will connect RDU to Montego Bay, Jamaica and Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Avelo's expansion at RDU follows its initial flights there in 2022, and these new routes are part of a broader statewide growth plan. CEO Andrew Levy explained that while RDU has recently added long-haul international flights (Frankfurt and Panama City), there was a need for more leisure-focused international options. The Montego Bay flight will begin on February 12 and the Punta Cana flight on February 22.
