European Regions Airline Association ‘raison d’etre’ is to join forces amongst European airlines to support the objective of European regional development and air connectivity. The air services that are provided by the ERA airlines are essential to achieve this objective for citizens and businesses, both passengers and cargo. We reinforced this message during a meeting today between ERA board members and the DG for Transport, DG MOVE @EuropeanCommission Magda Kopczynska It is therefore important that any EU policy acknowledges the different type of business model that regional airlines operate, and this is taken into consideration in any impact assessment, to avoid increasing/disproportionate costs for those operating primarily in the European airspace and generally not benefiting of economies of scale, as well as to allow our sector to deliver its declarbonisation roadmap.
