It helps reduce drag, improve fuel efficiency, and enhance the aircraft's stability during flight. The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a first-of-its-kind authorization to Boom Supersonic so that its XB-1 aircraft can exceed Mach 1 during test flights. XB-1’s test flight program is ongoing with the supersonic flight planned for later this year in the Black Mountain Supersonic Corridor in Mojave, California an area that has been used extensively for research and military supersonic aeronautical operations. The US FAA has released regulation for eVTOL aircraft flying in the US. The regulation is aimed at facilitating the certification of powered-lift pilots and clarifying operating rules related to powered-lift operations in the US’ airspace. The UK and Europe won’t be far behind this move. If the volumes of aircraft start to increase in volume, we don’t want to be left out in terms of being part of the supply base. ❓Are supersonic planes relevant ? Short answer: Yes Long answer: They are harder to manufacture, maintain, and operate than traditional airplanes. History has showed us that these planes can only be profitable on certain routes like JFK-LHR (New York-London). Perhaps the biggest drawback of the concorde was its noisy, and inefficient afterburner. Hence, its a game of balancing speed, safety, and profitability for Boom Supersonic. ⏳ Flight time: London to New York Currently: 7 hours Concorde: 3 hours Boom’s aircraft: 3.5 hours ✈️ As an engineer, I can only be excited about the technological advancements that are currently being made to produce that plane. 🙂 I really hope that you’ll be able to join me on a #supersonic #flight soon. #aviation #engineering

Integral tanks are areas inside the aircraft structure that have been sealed to allow fuel storage. An example of this type is the "wet wing", commonly used in larger aircraft. Since these tanks are part of the aircraft structure, they cannot be removed for service or inspection. Inspection panels must be provided to allow internal inspection, repair, and overall servicing of the tank.
