Some interesting work being applied in Manchester Utd training already by Ruben Amorim and his staff. A tactical attack v defence drill, including a transitional element involving a 30-40m recovery run on a “ball is lost” trigger. Interesting given the research shows that 30-40% of high intensity runs in the Premier League is recovery running (Bradley, 2022) You can see Amorim’s coaches on the sideline using our Sonra Live iPad, which allows for each player’s physical load to be closely monitored across a range of metrics, including max speeds, high speed distance, sprint distance, etc. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/erPGbq-U

Outstanding work integrating the tech to support the objectives of the training session. Absolutely what this tech was designed to do and how it CAN be leveraged but rarely is ... help and support the development process... to provide consistency and depth of insights briefly on metrics that coaches already value. We can call it Sport Science but it's possibly better renamed as Coaching Technological Support. If the coaches are better supported in carrying out their objectives, then the players are more effectively developed and the ROI is increased for the organization and fans. It should always be about supporting the player-coach, student-teacher interaction to maximize the opportunity for growth. It's why the investment occurs in the first place. #bethechange

Alot of talk on this. Is this offside yes/no? Yes it is offside, the rules of the game are clear on this if you are ahead of the play you are offside, if it's a hand (non-scoring body part) it's onside but it's his foot in the game of football. An RTE pundit cited its only a small infraction, why have the rules of the game in place at all if people are calling for if it's only a little offside then you're not offside. VAR has changed the rules to be more detail orientated down to the millimeter's we see in the image. Offside is offside, simple as. #Euro2024 #Offside #VAR #Compliance #Details

🏀💡Want to get better shooting off the dribble? Try this! Rules: - One player starts on the charge circle, the defender inside. - Defence cannot move until offence does. Offence must dribble around cone before shot, defence must chase around the cone next to the shooters before contest. - 3 points for a make, 1 point for a block. Challenge ball handlers to be deceptive! 🧠Possible constraints: - Limit amount of dribbles - Allow paint finishes - No fakes allowed

#RBAformations In formations with three central defenders, the hybrid role of the central centre-back (often referred to as the "sweeper" or "libero") is crucial. This player has a more dynamic role compared to the other two central defenders. In defence, this role includes covering for the other centre-backs, and marking the opponent's striker. Players in this position also organise the defensive line, making sure the back three move in unison. In many modern systems, the central centre-back is also responsible for initiating attacks. They often step out of the defensive line, carrying the ball forward into midfield, and acting like a deep-lying playmaker. Moves forward are also possible when out of possession in order to protect against counterattacks. #football #soccer #footballanalysis #RBAanalysis ---------------------- Follow us for more insights!
