Most frequent serious question we get from players at Konnectgolf: "Where should I play? I HAVE to set up some business golf rounds but I am not a member anywhere and forget about my client, I simply won't play a slow, 5 hour round unless it is on an amazing course." For someone like this, looking for private club access without making a membership commitment or initiation commitment to any one club, I often will share this article in response, and point to option #3, which is "Join a golf society." Golf societies often charge modest dues and over years navigate the local private club market to put together a calendar of golf events that allow a player to socialize and play a season of usually day-long events at quality venues for fees that range from $550-$750 each (going rate in Met region for a quality outing; incl golf, lunch or bfast, drinks, but excluding caddie fees if applicable). Konnect members now have access to one such society's schedule and events. Open the app, click "Today at Konnect", and the second item listed gives you full details and the application. 13 events on the calendar (all listed in the app attachment) all great venues in Westchester (most) but also NJ and LI. Contact details for the president of this golf society are listed in the app for further questions as well (note required annual dues for this society are $200). https://lnkd.in/eUAfmcTu

Is green fee income a good indicator of the health of a venue? The report below from the Revenue Club shows that average green fee income was rose 8% in the U.K. in 2023. On the face of it, this looks like good news for clubs – and it could very well be. But in this report, the green fee increase coincides with a slight drop in member rounds at the start of the year. So what does that mean for member experience at the club? It’s easy for a club to say that they want to increase income from green fees, but without the proper analysis to support that conclusion, it could be a risky strategy. Data has to be the driver for any decision like this. Do you know how many rounds your members are playing? What value are members getting from their membership? How are your members engaging with the club in general? These are all questions that should support a strategic decision to target new groups or invest in your existing customers. If you could spend time giving a £1500 member an improved experience that stops them leaving, or use that time recruiting 10 new green fees at £50, the required strategy is quite obvious. Now I’m not saying that one approach will always have to be at the expense of the other. And there’s real value in delivering a fantastic experience for green fee players through retail, F&B and coaching opportunities that can lead them towards a long term relationship with the club. But if you don’t have the data to support your strategy, then you could easily be heading down a blind alley. We love the power that our GLF Connect system gives clubs to make informed decisions and show how one part of the business has direct links to another. So when you get good news like green fees going up by 8%, you can be sure that the rest of the business is thriving too. #golfclubs #golfbusiness #customerexperience https://lnkd.in/eN3wKtcQ

Great insight here on how implementing a strong tee time cancelation policy, as well as filling those canceled tee times with Noteefy 🔔, can benefit the bottom line for many golf course operators.
Every public golf course can add 5-10% incremental top line revenue INSTANTLY with a simple policy change and technology solution. 📈 👇 How? 1. Enforce a cancelation policy ($20 fee / no show or cancelation inside 24 hours). There is no other industry with perishable supply (hotels, movie tickets, flights, etc) where a no show is not enforced. It shocks me that operators are more worried about those that complain over a no show fee than those that would gladly pay rack rate to patron the course. This is my "hill to die on" with the data we see on the hundreds of people a day that are wanting to play. If those no - show times had come available, someone would have paid. Yes I understand that people will call their credit card companies to reject the fee, but this is something every other merchant that enforces fees experiences. The headache is worth the reward. If you want to drive accessibility and revenue, this policy change is a no brainer. The simple act of telling golfers that you have this policy will drive an immediate behavior change and top line lift. 2. Use Noteefy to alert those that are looking for tee times canceled at the last minute. When you enforce your cancelation policy, whether that is 24, 48, or 72 hours... people will ALWAYS cancel right at the last minute before that deadline. With Noteefy, you can perfectly match supply and demand by sending personalized messages to operators. Just look at the revenue growth data from this course that did the 1-2 punch of policy change + Noteefy! Tagging a few great operators that I know have implemented this combo and seen the results: Eric, Erica, Kevin, Scot, Ashley, Keith, Ryan

Curious non-golfers, did you know? As if getting the invite to a multi-day member guest tournament wasn't great enough, golfers form karma and gifting pacts with their friends to invite each other to their member-guest tournaments. They ceremonially open these tournaments with a bizarre but amazing gifting ritual: On arrival at the tournament, usually within sight of the first tee will be a check-in area teeming with extravagant gifts for the guests, often personalized or sized for the guest and presented with a gracious if studied nonchalance. "Oh yeah, did you pick up your engraved and tourney-stamped Opus tri-wedge pack gift bag out front? I told the gifting committee team you like the wedge flex, I hope that's okay." If you want to get into the golf grifting and gifting pact member guest game, you will need to acquire some golfing skills. We're talking about reps* education* and thoughtful practice*.
