Are you a Dualie? If you are, then you could be key to strengthening long-term participation in the game. In short, the National Golf Foundation define a dualie is a golfer who plays both on-course and off-course golf. Not content with a regular 18, they use a simulator, visit the range, or head down to a Top Golf or a Big Shots in between rounds. I’ve seen several reports recently about the consistent growth of off-course golf. And I’ve heard a fair bit of concern from the industry on whether it will weaken participation in the traditional game. I’ve always thought otherwise – so it’s great to see this report suggesting I was right 😊 When we see golfers taking lessons, or hitting the range we know that the number of rounds they play goes up – we’ve measured it. We know that when we can help engage golfers in activities around the club other than playing golf, the number of rounds they play goes up – we’ve measured it. So it has always followed in my head that when golfers hit balls for leisure, the number of rounds they play will go up. In addition, this report shows that they are more committed to traditional golf, their ability level is higher, they spend more money on equipment, and - the number of rounds they play goes up! I think there’s also a great argument that off course golf is a fantastic entry point for many people too. But that’s a post for another day 😊 #participation #dualie #golfbusiness https://lnkd.in/eepE24rS

795 green grass golf courses combine to make 748 golf facilities in the Empire State - New York. We organized the data in a map, broken out by facility type. We're doing this for every state/province in USA/Canada. We have more than 3,000 contacts connected to the NY facilities with accurate, actionable data - Current as of September 2024 with daily updates. We're building golf course profiles using more than 40 data points to help vendors save time and get a better understanding of their total addressable market. 59% of NY public golf courses are using a digital tee sheet and 47% of those golf courses participate in a tee time marketplace like GolfNow, Daily Deals or Supreme Golf. Nearly every private club we analyzed uses a digital tee but not all use a strict tee time policy. The data we've assembled includes tee sheet vendor, app vendor, website vendor, waitlist vendor, Facebook, LinkedIn and website status. Marketplace participation, golf simulator, pickleball and more are also included in our work. We also analyzed golfer feedback and reviews along with how people/customers engage with the business. If you'd like a link to the map, send an email to me, mike@smbgolf.com and please include your name and phone number.

Is your golf club looking to attract a slightly younger member who could become a full member in the near future? The average age of a PlayMoreGolf flexible member is 46 years old. Traditionally golf clubs have tried to attract 25-40 year olds in their intermediate categories with a goal of keeping these as members into a full category. However, often during this period, 'life' gets in the way. And for some, your golf membership is something that you have to sacrifice. Flexible memberships are a great way to reduce the overall average age of your membership whilst also keeping people on their pathway to a full category. #playmoregolf #flexiblemembership

The golf industry is experiencing a notable bifurcation: while participatory golf and private club quality golf interest remain at a sustained high level, viewership of professional tournaments like the PGA Tour, including the 2024 Masters and the PGA Championship has significantly declined compared to 2022 and 2023. Participation rates in golf have surged, with rounds played at private clubs increasing by 15% year-over-year and membership inquiries up by 20%. Conversely, television ratings for the Masters dropped by 25% and the PGA Championship by 30%. Two possible reasons for this divergence are the growing preference for experiential, hands-on activities over passive viewing and the changing media consumption habits, where viewers increasingly opt for highlight reels and social media snippets over full broadcasts... Either way, do't get left behind: Pick up the skills at Konnect that you need to play golf in the best metro region for golf on the planet: Westchester Cty, Long Island, and yes, New Jersey have golf worthy of players with skills, so you want to show up with some! Why pick up skills at Konnect? Because our "anything goes", "come as you are" golf club concept for people who don't know anything about golf idea never got off the drawing board. The brochure centerfold rendering (below) tested poorly with aficionados and member prospects alike. So bottom line, don't attempt that "A" club membership without some skills you can acquire at Konnect!

Fantastic Golfing Tips That Anyone Can Apply Golf is a serious game, requiring weighty investments in money, practice, time and ability. In addition to all the monetary and physical needs of the video game, you must be competent and experienced in the sport, as well, if you expect to be successful. By including the ideas in this short article to your video game, you can fuse manual labor and psychological knowledge into long-term ability. Do not play with filthy golf clubs. The grooves on the face of your clubs are there for a reason. They provide you with the spin that is needed for both distance and ball control, so if your grooves have plenty of mud then you will lose both distance and precision. As you pull the club back, turn your left shoulder away from the target. The majority of weight ought to now be on your back foot, and your head should be over the ball. If you do not turn correctly then you are not going to hit full power. Practice with an instructor or tape yourself swinging and practice doing this without striking the ball. To play prepared golf from the fairway, walk to your shot with a couple of different clubs in mind. Do not delay your foursome or the groups behind you by getting to your ball only to discover that you want to go with a club with a bit more

Playing a Tournament at Bayonet Golf Course: A Golfer’s Challenge and Joy There are few golf courses that evoke both excitement and anxiety the way Bayonet Golf Course does. Nestled along California’s Monterey Peninsula, this course is known for its history, beauty, and sheer difficulty. Playing a tournament at Bayonet isn't just a test of skill; it's a mental and physical endurance challenge that will make even seasoned golfers rethink their strategy. Whether you’re a low handicapper or a weekend warrior, Bayonet is sure to deliver an unforgettable experience. The Setting: Beauty Meets Brutality First, let’s talk about the setting. Bayonet is located in Seaside, California, just minutes from the Pacific Ocean. From certain points on the course, you’ll catch glimpses of the ocean, adding a picturesque backdrop to an already stunning layout. But don’t let the beauty fool you—this course is no walk in the park. Designed in 1954 by General Robert McClure, Bayonet’s military origins are still felt today in its design: narrow fairways, thick rough, and strategically placed bunkers that feel more like traps than hazards. The course has been updated over the years, but it still retains its reputation as one of the toughest tracks on the West Coast. This makes it a perfect venue for a serious tournament, where every hole can change your scorecard, and every shot feels high-stakes. Preparing for the Test Walking up to the first tee at Bayonet, there’s a sense of intimidation. The fairways are tight, the wind can be unpredictable, and elevation changes add another layer of difficulty. This course is known for its long par-4s and par-5s that demand precision off the tee and a strong short game around the greens. If you come into a Bayonet tournament expecting to scramble your way through, you're in for a rude awakening. Preparing for a tournament here means working on both your physical game and your mental resilience. The wind off the bay can wreak havoc on your approach shots, and the greens can be fast and unforgiving. It’s essential to focus on accuracy over power, especially when navigating the narrow fairways lined with Monterey pines. The rough is notoriously thick, so missing the fairway can cost you more than a stroke—it could derail your entire round.
