😊 So, I am back with blood platelets donation after some - unnecessary as it was proven - break and I am really happy about it! 👉 You see, I had to donate blood around beg. of February and I though that I had to wait three (3) months between a typical blood donation and a blood platelets donation; alas this is not the case. 🔎 As a donor, you can switch from blood platelets to blood donation and vice versa in just one (1) month! The 3-month restriction only applies when you donate a flask of blood, as the human body recovers donated blood volumes much slower than blood platelets which are normally recovered in a matter of days... 💡 Good to know for next time! #blooddonation #bloodplatelets #donatelife

Happy World Blood Donor Day! I’ll walk you through the process of a blood donation. It’s such a small thing to do and can save up to three lives. I had anxiety about donating the first time, because I didn’t know what to expect, so if you can relate, here’s the simple process. A simple action with a big impact. The Facts: “Most adults have between 8 to 12 pints of blood and can easily spare a pint. Volume is replaced within 24 hours and red cells are replaced within 4 to 8 weeks after donating. -1 out of 3 people will need blood in their lifetime -62% of the US is eligible to donate blood, yet only about 3% do -15 million units of blood products are transfused every year in the US” Here’s a reminder that you can make a big difference with small actions. What we do matters and has a ripple effect. So schedule your donation at your local center and share this video with someone who wants to make a difference.
