Did you know Shriners Children’s Hospital has been caring for kids for 100 years? Each year, the children’s hospital in Spokane helps thousands of children from Washington, Montana, Idaho, Alaska and Canada. Avista crews were onsite recently to help the Spokane hospital begin its celebration by hanging large banners on the hospital building. Congratulations on a century of caring, Shriners Children's!

This is the unfortunate truth for independent pharmacies lately, even those who have been in business for 86 years. As an independent pharmacy owner myself, I spend countless hours, including weekends and early mornings, to find innovative ways to keep my pharmacy profitable. The dispensing days of pharmacy are over; we must try to offer additional services, such as compounding, remote patient monitoring, testing and treatment, and collaborating more with physicians to bill for our valuable services. Although the road ahead may be challenging, this is our opportunity as a small business owner and pharmacists to be creative, innovative, and profitable by trying something new. Let's hear what niches your pharmacy has found to be profitable in the comments! 👊🏿I'm Claude, and I am an independent pharmacy and multi-business owner who invests in commercial real estate. 86 years. Red Cross Pharmacy served their community for 86 years. Scott is a devoted pharmacist who proudly served his community, successfully ran his business, raised his family and spent time advocating for our profession. Not all heroes wear capes, some wear pharmacy coats. What a remarkable journey ended by corporate greed of PBMs. Link to story: https://lnkd.in/ddFYPSRr

Today is #ClinicalTrialsDay. In a world where more and more information are, presumably, obtained through all sorts of tech solutions, #machinelearning, #bigdata #AI, there is still a need for "old fashion" trials. I have seen several times before where data driven analysis do actually produce interesting hypotheses, but how can we trust them? Clinical trials quantifies the #scientific procedure that is needed to find out IF there actaually is a real effect or just a coincidence. Good clinical trials also requires good data handling, data manipulation, analysis plans, procedures for analysis and reporting. #statistics #science
Today we are celebrating #clinicaltrialsday. https://lnkd.in/eDYjHMK

The beauty of this learning is that both partners have learning objectives. An authentic two way learn g experience.
In a show of global medical collaboration, our cardiovascular team recently welcomed two doctors from Howrah, India, to see how we provide high-quality, complex care that improves outcomes for children with heart anomalies. This was through our partnership with Children's HeartLink, a Twin Cities-based nonprofit dedicated to saving children’s lives by transforming pediatric heart care in underserved parts of the world. https://lnkd.in/gS_QNYFR

DME recycle and reuse programs don't get as much press as they should. They are truly remarkable in making impacts in three major challenge areas in our society, including 1) lack of funding for DME, 2) shorter length of stays and increased need for DME, and 3) our current challenges in the #climate crisis. Hannah and I would be happy to talk to anyone interested in learning more about the program at Methodist, and the impact it has made on the #GreaterOmaha community. #meaningofcare #dme #policy #advocacy
