We are thrilled to share that Avon Protection's Materials Innovation team attended the “Searchlight” Science & Technology Capabilities Exhibition at DSTL Porton Down Science Campus on 11th July 2024. Including presenting during the “Elevator Pitch” session showcasing some of the novel work on permeation resistance that is happening at Avon Protection. This prestigious event united key players in science, technology, and defence to foster innovation and collaboration. Porton Down, located in Wiltshire, is home to the UK Ministry of Defence’s Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), alongside Porton Biopharma Ltd. The Porton Science Campus, established in 2018, has evolved into a major centre of excellence in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and Defence Technologies. This year’s exhibition showcased advancements across various fields, supported by significant funding and collaborative opportunities from the UK Government. Our Materials Innovation team, represented by Principal Scientist Richard Moon, and Avon Senior Global Product Manager - APR Mike Lee, highlighted a mixture of Avon Protection and Team Wendy protective products and services. Their presence underscored our commitment to supporting the initiatives at Porton Down, particularly in areas such as Advanced Materials and CBR Defence. We are proud to contribute to the UK’s Defence Science and Technology Portfolio, ensuring operational advantage and generating prosperity through our innovative solutions.
