Attending last week’s Manassas Business Appreciation Breakfast, hosted by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, offered a valuable opportunity to network with Manassas' business leaders and listen to City of Manassas Mayor Michelle Davis-Younger provide an update on her administration’s great work in fostering a thriving business environment. It was equally enlightening to engage with business community leaders such as Zuzana Steen from Micron Technology, who are positively contributing to the economic growth of Manassas and Prince William County. The World Pilots’ Day is celebrated every year on 26 April, to recognize the many contributions of pilots who safely connect millions of passengers around the world every year. The International Federation of Air Line Pilots Association (IFALPA) selected 26 April to highlight the inaugural flight of Mehmet Fesa Evrensev, who on this very day in 1912, took his first flight. This young pilot played a significant role in the development of aviation since the early 1910s, and became the first president of Turkish Airlines in 1933. We at Avports have the honor of counting many pilots in our team, and are very grateful to all of them, including those pilots flying in and out of our managed airports. Their constant commitment to excellence in safety is outstanding. Working together and recognising all members of the aviation family is our passion.
