Hi lovelies,
I’m putting the finishing touches on a program I’m so excited about. It’s a course designed specifically for educators who want to create world-changing classroom environments, and let me tell you—it’s been a long time coming. I’ve been nurturing this idea for a minute *cough two years cough*, and it's finally coming to life. But before I tie it all up with a bow, I want to make sure I’m covering all the bases that our kiddos need to thrive.
So far, the topics I’ve covered include:
1) Building inclusive classrooms where every child feels seen and valued for who they are
2) Understanding neurodiversity and how we can create supportive spaces for all learning styles
3) Fostering emotional intelligence and equipping our students with tools for healthy communication and self-regulation
4) Addressing anxiety-inducing classroom environments by identifying triggers, reducing stressors, and creating spaces where students feel safe and supported
5) Anti-racist education that unpacks the historical roots of racism and how it shows up in today’s world, especially in how Black joy is policed
6) Empowering student voices so they can be confident in speaking up and advocating for themselves and others
7) Creating safe spaces for our LGBTQIA+ students, ensuring they feel supported and celebrated
Culturally responsive teaching that highlights the rich diversity of our students and their communities
But this isn’t just my course—it’s for us. I'm a mama, too. I'm an educator, too. I would love to hear from you all, especially parents and educators.
What are the issues you’re facing in the classroom or at home? What’s working, and where do you feel like your kiddos need more support?
Please share your experiences and thoughts on what you think is most relevant or what you’d like to see covered in this course.
My door is always open if you need help, support, or advocacy. We’re in this together, and I’m here for you.
Sending love and light,
