Hi Everyone, here I am with an another interesting information on Artemis 2 is the second scheduled mission of NASA's Artemis program and the first scheduled crewed mission of NASA's Orion spacecraft, currently planned to be launched by the Space Launch System (SLS) no earlier than November 2024. Four astronauts are to perform a flyby of the Moon and return to Earth, being the first crewed mission beyond low Earth orbit since Apollo 17 in 1972. The mission is also planned to be the first crewed launch from Launch Complex 39B of the Kennedy Space Center since STS-116 in 2006. #snsinstitution #snsdesignthinkers #snsdesignthinking #nasa #moniraja

🌕🎉 Congratulations to Intuitive Machines for making history as the first commercial company to land a spacecraft on the Moon! On 23 February, Intuitive Machines achieved a remarkable milestone by successfully landing their Odysseus spacecraft near the lunar south pole. Despite encountering numerous challenges following the spacecraft's separation, IM accomplished its primary mission goals: executing a soft landing on the lunar surface and delivering valuable scientific data to its clients. NASA has verified the reception of data from all five active payloads aboard the Odysseus, with plans to test a sixth payload, a laser retroreflector, in the near future. This ground-breaking achievement is a testament to the ingenuity, perseverance, and collaborative spirit driving the entire commercial space industry forward. It underscores the transformative potential of private companies in advancing space exploration and pushing the boundaries of human achievement. Try imagining an #astronaut. The visual is universal; a person is enclosed in a white Michelin-like suit with a transparent screen to see the worlds they encounter beyond Earth. The space suit is integral to a successful space mission. Amy Ross, a #NASA space engineer, shares how the #space suit is evolving as space missions become more ambitious. How do you become an astronaut? Observing Earth from space is an unparalleled experience, as affirmed by those fortunate enough to have ventured beyond our atmosphere and circled our planet. The aspiration to explore this unique perspective is a common dream shared by many who wish to venture where only a select few, fewer than 1,000 humans, have ventured before. Consequently, numerous individuals apply to become astronauts whenever a space agency issues a call. To uncover the process of becoming an astronaut, IFLScience interviewed NASA. #OTD 6 years ago, SpaceX launched the Falcon Heavy Rocket from NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Kennedy Space Center, bringing the space race back in full force. The mission marked a significant milestone in space exploration, as the Falcon Heavy became the world's most powerful operational rocket. It's exciting to see the strides that have been made in the past 6 years, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for space exploration. On a funny note, when watching this launch, #DavidBowie’s Rocket Man was playing and did anyone notice the center dash board of the Roadster? Also, if your curious about where the Roadster and Starman is at, follow the link: https://lnkd.in/gHNRmxn5 #DONTPANIC #SpaceX #NASA #FalconHeavy #SpaceRace #Starman #FormerNASAEmployee #NASAAlumni

Celebrating #GovernmentChangemakers: A groundbreaking space mission, led by NASA's Scott Bellamy and Brian Key, demonstrated that small changes can create significant impact when their team successfully altered an asteroid's orbit using a method akin to "galactic billiards." The team's focus was on kinetic energy – using a 1200-pound spacecraft traveling at over 13,500 mph to impact the asteroid Dimorphos. This precise, high-velocity collision shifted Dimorphos' trajectory, demonstrating a viable method for planetary defense. The mission's success hinges on early detection and intervention, proving that even small changes can significantly deflect potentially hazardous asteroids from Earth. #UnstuckGovernment https://hubs.li/Q02lGs0m0

Did you know that #NASA, the pioneering space agency behind the International Space Station and cutting-edge space laboratory, still relies on 1970s-era programs in their spacecraft? It's a testament to the enduring power of legacy technology! While NASA is renowned for pushing the boundaries of innovation, they also recognize the value of tried-and-true systems. This fascinating blend of old and new showcases the agency's commitment to balancing progress with reliability. As the saying goes, "old is gold" - and NASA's seasoned programs are a shining example of this mantra in action!

Touching the Sun: Parker Solar Probe Matches Its Closest Distance Record On June 30, 2024, NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Parker Solar Probe came within a mere 4.51 million miles (7.26 million kilometers) of the Sun's surface, equaling its own record for the closest approach ever achieved by a spacecraft. This feat, achieved during its 20th perihelion, saw the probe hurtle around the Sun at a staggering speed of 394,736 miles per hour (635,266 kilometers per hour). This isn't the end of Parker's daring journey. The probe will repeat this close encounter on September 30 before embarking on its final three approaches, culminating in a grand finale on December 24. After a gravity assist from Venus in November, Parker will be on track to graze the Sun at a record-breaking distance of 3.8 million miles, reaching a mind-boggling speed of 430,000 miles per hour. #ParkerSolarProbe #NASA #Sun #SpaceExploration
