I was on a plane 🛫 spending 14 hours going from Dubai to Montreal. So I decided to watch the movie about "Research In Motion" (the rise and fall of a Canadian tech giant). 🔥 Hot Take: BlackBerry, once the undisputed king of the smartphone jungle, plummeted to near obscurity. What went wrong? 1️⃣ Innovation Amnesia: #BlackBerry led the smartphone revolution with email and BBM, but then... they hit snooze. Enter iPhone and Android, flipping the script with touchscreens and apps. BlackBerry? Stuck in a time warp. 2️⃣ Tone-Deaf to Trends: Consumers wanted cool apps and slick interfaces. BlackBerry missed the memo, clinging to their keyboard and email like a security blanket. The world moved on to Instagram and WhatsApp, but BB stayed in the boardroom. 3️⃣ Snail-Paced Response: When BB finally woke up and smelled the coffee, it was too late. The Z10? A case of too little, too late. The market had bolted, and BlackBerry was left tying its shoelaces. The funny thing is that it's not a unique case. This happens to so many companies in different industries. As a banker, I met so many entrepreneurs in love with their company, their products, and their ideas that they were blind to the rapid changes happening around them. 🧠 So what are the lessons entrepreneurs can get from this story? 💡 Adapt or Die: The market waits for no one. Today's innovation is tomorrow's antique. Keep evolving. 💡 Listen to the Street, Not Just the Suite: Your consumers are your best innovators. Ignore them at your peril. 💡 Speed is Your Friend: In tech, time isn't just money; it's everything. React fast, pivot faster. 🚀 BlackBerry’s story isn’t just a tale of tech. It's a lesson in business survival. #BusinessStrategy #Innovation #Adaptation #Entrepreneurship #TechTales

It’s not just about solving problems; it’s about finding and designing problems that matter. 🌟 Think about Apple’s iPhone. It didn’t just address existing mobile phone issues—it created new experiences and needs we didn't even know we had. 📱✨ So, how can we shift our perspective to find problems worth solving? Look Beyond the Obvious: Start by asking yourself what truly matters to you and your community. What are the everyday struggles people face that often go unnoticed? Listen to Your Gut: Sometimes, the best insights come from personal experiences. Reflect on your own challenges and frustrations. Could your solution help others in similar situations? Talk to People: Engage with your customers, friends, and family. Their stories and feedback can highlight hidden issues and opportunities. Think Long-Term: What will people need in the future? Consider how societal, technological, and cultural changes might create new needs and desires. By focusing on designing meaningful problems, we can create solutions that not only address current needs but also anticipate future ones. This approach allows us to innovate in ways that make a real difference in people’s lives. Let’s move from just solving problems to imagining and building a better future. 💡❤️ #Innovation #Entrepreneurship #ProblemSolving #FutureThinking #CommunityImpact

Turning founders into branding champions | xDisney | Guiding 7-figure+ startups to increase their chances of success by establishing an indisputable market position | Brand Strategy Consultant | Advisor
If science tells us that purchase decisions are emotional… Why lead your messaging with function? When people interact with your brand… They are not just processing information logically. They are feeling things. They are connecting on an emotional level. Rational thinking, facts, features, and data certainly help shape a person's understanding of your brand. But it is the emotional experience that sparks action. By fostering a bond with your customers you transform your brand into a powerful growth engine. Memorable experiences create loyal customers. They become enthusiastic advocates. And, hopefully, repeat buyers. In other words: Your startup’s success is not rooted in products or innovation. Do you really think you have an iPhone because of its capacity? No. You’ve looked at the storage options because of the price. But the decision was taken way before. You didn’t even compare the iPhone with other smartphones. If customers feel a strong emotional connection with your brand, they will be primed to pay a premium. That's why you need to add an emotional dimension to your tech. How can you do that? → Trust in the power of meaning → Deliver great, meaningful experiences → Tell a compelling story → Make sure your visual identity “smiles” at them Great brands don’t feel like a brand. They behave like movements you join. - - - I’m Ezequiel Abramzon ✷ If you liked this post and want more → follow me → 🔔 I write about #brandstrategy for #startups so #entrepreneurship is more impactful, and for that you have to #beintentional Are you a founder? 196 pages, 4 days… Revisited "Zero to One" 📖 by Peter Thiel , and it’s as thought-provoking as ever. A pure Dopamine spike! For me, Here are 3 key takeaways that stand out: ↳ Create Unique Value: Think about how Google redefined search. ↳ Monopoly is the Goal: Look at how Apple dominates the smartphone ecosystem. ↳Think for the Future: To move from 0 to 1, ASK, "What valuable company is nobody building?" 💡 The next Bill Gates will not build an OS and the next Larry/Sergey won’t make a Search Engine. If you are copying them, you aren’t learning from them. ~ Peter Thiel It’s about seeing possibilities where others see limits. #ZerotoOne #Value #Inspiration #Entrepreneurship

Just watched the Nothing founder's interview. It hit me hard - startup life is tough, and I'm not alone in my struggles. From the outside, it looked like a cool story of an ex-OnePlus member. Reality? It's insanely hard work. Even with that experience: - No one believes in you - Everyone constantly challenges you - You're never sure if you're on the right track - You don't have all the answers But you keep going. It's tough, it sucks sometimes, but you find your footing and push through problems, one after another. Nothing's journey is eye-opening: - First earbuds didn't charge. No good factory would work with them. - They paused shipments, camped at the factory, and closely monitored production. - For their first phone, they couldn't find the right screens. Bought chips separately for a fortune, couldn't use them, then spent weeks finding someone who could buy these chips from them because they found screens from another manufacturer. The founder studied at Sweden's top business school. Surprise - it didn't prepare him for this. What really stood out was his take on marketing. Spoiler: it's not about throwing money at problems. His view: If everyone uses the same channels the same way, those with big budgets win. Sounds familiar? Solution? Get creative. He made an honest iPhone 14 review right after launch. Competitor reviewing a competitor - that's gutsy. This resonates with what we're doing at Scrapps. We're all about finding those unique angles and understanding what competitors are up to. It's not just about following trends, but creating them. My thoughts after watching: 1. Real projects teach more than any business school. 2. Spot trends, but better yet - create them. 3. Be bolder and more interesting than others. We can do this. 4. Startups aren't a fun lifestyle. It's hard, but incredibly rewarding. 5. We're creating something that could impact millions daily. That's huge. This founder? He's just a regular person. Like me. Like you. It's tough, but it's worth it. Let's keep pushing forward. And if you're curious about what your competitors are doing, check out https://www.scrapps.ai/. We might just help you find your next creative breakthrough. Interview link: https://lnkd.in/eRg3PTaV

Every successful business has one crucial trait: ECOSYSTEMS. An ecosystem isn't just about products; it's about integrating your brand into customers' daily lives. Take Apple, for instance—they don't merely sell products. They offer an ecosystem where: Documents transition seamlessly from your pocket to your desk Health data syncs effortlessly Music travels with you This integration enhances convenience and builds deep loyalty. Apple's iPhone retention rate is 92%, far outpacing competitors like Samsung at 77%. It's always inspiring to talk with up-and-coming entrepreneurs! Last week, I had some time to chat with TJ Driver, who co-founded the Germantown-based tech startup Brick with longtime friend Zach Nasgowitz. The duo had a problem familiar to most of us: they had a hard time putting their smartphones down. Their solution? A physical device that pairs with a smartphone application and allows users to block certain applications and tools they might find too distracting. Get the full story below. #entrepreneurship #technology #manufacturing #startups https://lnkd.in/gDUbeK5d
