Latvian #biotech Cellbox Labs, which develops #industrial organ-on-chip technology, has raised €935K in a pre-seed round, led by Latvian Buildit VC, with participation from a syndicate of 12 LatBAN’s angels, managed by Girts Licis, Latvian investment fund ASP Asset Management AIFP, and its owner Ansis Spridzans. Founded in 2020 in #Riga by Arturs Abols, Gatis Mozolevskis, and Roberts Rimša, Cellbox Labs develops an organ-on-chip technology, which is based on the creation of miniature replicas of human organs (gut, lung) outside of the human organism, thus reducing animal testing in #research. These replicas can be used to test various biological processes and for drug development. This technology allows for more accurate predictions of a drug's efficacy and toxicity during the development phase. Additionally, Cellbox Labs is developing an automated organ-on-chip cultivation device that ensures high productivity, reduces the impact of human error, and minimizes the need for manual intervention. The startup will use the investment to complete the first version of this device and begin sales. Buildit is an accelerator for hardware and IoT startups. It provides €10K to €50K of pre-seed investments to best-performing startups and up to €250K of seed investments. Buildit's partners are Matiss Neimanis, Rene Tõnnisson, and Aleksander Tõnnisson. Founder Rahim Invest 🇨🇭| ESG-DeepTech Investments | EMBA in sustainability | Impact funding keynote speaker Paris Olympics, WEF24 | $14 billion pipeline across 30 countries | FIFA18 High-Tech infrastructure investor
Recently, I've already described the investment priorities https://lnkd.in/esGzfwaV of Rahim Invest FO 🇨🇭 and emphasized our focus on #MedTech and #BioTech including diversified #longevity technologies. Our clients, primarily #familyoffices from the #Gulfregion typically invest in Series A and B rounds, with co-investment checks ranging from $5 million to $80 million. In most cases, I don't meet with startups for pitches because our scouting and analytics team follows an approved and structured process for venture selection. My participation occurs only in the final stages of pipeline composition. However, BioTech and longevity technologies hold a special place in our scientific and investment specialization, so every team member must stay updated on this #DeepTech stack. Today, I was pleased to host Natalia Zhilinskaya COO of NanThermix SA and discuss their promising technology, which provides access to intracellular thermodynamics at the nanoscale. This is a fundamental scientific research area, and while it is too early-stage for our investors, I recommend #seedround #investors pay attention to NanThermix SA. This technology aligns with a critical global agenda and offers market potential and IRR that exceed many other trending DeepTech streams, comparable with the long-term potential of investments in AI. However, the main challenge for seed-round investors is the high level of risk. The key indicators of #earlystage #startups in high-demand markets include experienced and successful teams and a seasoned entrepreneur as the founder. Andrey Sinogeykin the founder of NanThermix SA, has over 20 years of a successful track record in investing in early-stage DeepTech startups and managing various businesses. Additionally, NanThermix SA is based in #Lausanne #Switzerland one of the most credible and impressive international BioTech hubs #EPFL The high-speed scientific progress in this hub accelerates the development of BioTech and MedTech research, enabling faster conversion from fundamental patents to industrial implementation. If my post has raised any professional investment questions, please DM Natalia Zhilinskaya.
