A big thanks to Marcus & Millichap Los Angeles for hosting a productive and insightful Multifamily Forum last week. In attendance was AXIS Architecture + Design's adaptive reuse expert Roberto Vazquez. Although challenges persist for multifamily housing development, there was positivity to be found in the Forum's discussions. Adaptive reuse is consistently intriguing to developers trying to understand how to crack that egg—that interest has been reflected here at AXIS Architecture + Design in the recent inquiries we've been receiving. Some opinions suggested that high interest rates are the new standard, and with the gradual acceptance of that fact, more deals may start flowing. Other people were excited because Canada recently cut interest rates, a positive development that could signal further changes to come.
