Video of laparoscopic #excision of deep endometriosis I performed recently in a 30-year-old patient with primary infertility and debilitating chronic pelvic pain since menarche. An earlier intervention was not offered to the patient due to all non-invasive investigations being ''negative''. I am wondering if, in such cases, the positive effect of endometriosis excision on symptoms may be negatively affected by the longstanding history of #pain itself, a phenomenon that could have potentially been prevented by an earlier intervention, had that been offered to the patients. https://lnkd.in/gwkhwUKN

In this study by The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Inc., computer-assisted TKA was associated with lower costs and higher quality-adjusted life-years (QALYs) for both elderly (65+) and non-elderly (55-64) patients. Computer-assisted TKA was beneficial to payers in both a bundled payment program and a fee-for-use payment model and probabilistic sensitivity analysis demonstrated a 95.3% chance of computer-assisted TKA being more cost-effective than conventional TKA. https://lnkd.in/gv8fq-sn #arthroplasty #orthopaedics #orthopedics
