🤔 What are the advantages and disadvantages of TPU material printed by SLS compared to TPU printed by DLP/LCD/SLA 3D printers? Here are the answers: Compared to FDM and SLA technologies, SLS technology has the advantage of small anisotropy in the XYZ directions of parts and no need for supporting structures. After post-processing, the surface of TPU products printed by SLS is smooth and shiny 😍 , and the appearance effect is completely comparable to TPU/PU products printed by injection molding and SLA technology. In addition❗, using SLS technology to print TPU materials has other advantages compared to FDM and UV curing technology: 1. Better rebound performance, lighter weight, and good recovery after external force removal, with an average deformation of less than 10%; 2. DLP vs FDM. ✅ 57.5% increase in output per machine. ✅ Tighter tolerances achieved ✅ Produced the same working day ✅ Dispatched and delivered the following day ✅ Custom branding and serialization on every part. 📩 Message me for more info on streamlining your production or go to RipleyDynamics.com One of our clients where producing these on FDM. These are a simple thread so material wasn't too critical. Normal FDM printing was 13 hours for 24 parts (33 minutes a part). We used our DLP machine at a 100um layer height in an ABS-like resin to achieve 24 parts in just 6.5 hours (16 minutes a part). Add an additional hour for processing which would bring it out to 19 minutes a part. More crucially though - we where able to produce 96 parts in an eight hour shift (across four machines). More than enough to keep up with assembly.
