For ultra-light shore casting i've stopped using 4lb mono because certain species with excellent eyesight (usually the ones with larger eye ratios to the body) will see the lead on a Carolina rig. I use 4lb braid. Diameter of 0.002in & breaking strength of 14lbs! Unreal! Unlike Dyneema this line is formulated to sink, not float. Easier to present the lure to the fish.
