📑 I am excited to share that our case report titled "Cutaneous leishmaniasis mimicking psoriasis: A case report" has been published in the Clinical Case Reports journal. ❉ Scalp lesions associated with psoriasis and cutaneous leishmaniasis can be clinically indistinguishable, leading to misdiagnosis. ❉ Notably, although cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) seldom affects the scalp and palms, such atypical presentations are plausible. Therefore, in geographic areas endemic to CL, any cutaneous lesion resembling psoriasis should prompt thorough evaluation to consider CL as a plausible etiology. ❉ Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/dcY3eRxQ #dermatology #medicine #research #case_report #healthcare

The diagnosis of atopic dermatitis (AD) is primarily based on clinical assessment, as there are no specific tests for it. Given the frequency with which this condition is encountered, it is crucial that managing patients with AD is as straightforward as possible for doctors. To support dermatologists with easy-to-use, clinically validated tools that benefit patients and enhance care, we have gathered all relevant tools into the Atopic Dermatitis Corner. Right now, it's available in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, and Slovakia. Tools like SCORAD, EASI, and DLQI are designed to assist dermstologists in everyday patient care. Log into the Mediately App, navigate to the tools tab, and try them yourself. #MediatelyApp #Dermatology #AtopicDermatitis #MedicalTools

#Dermatology #Research #dermacases. Recently published a clinical and dermoscopy of under-reported case of cydnidae pigmentation on palms resembling black-ink stains. This may not be a rare clinical scenario but goes underreported, so the sudden appearance of black-ink-like marks on the palms or face should alert us to the possibility of pigmentation caused by a substance secreted by cydnidae bugs. The treatment only provides reassurance and hand-holding for the patient throughout the process of pigmentation fading on its own over a period of one to two weeks. Therefore, vigilant history taking and high index of suspicion is required. Superficial nature of pigmentation on dermoscopy aids in the diagnosis of this condition. Article DOI- 10.7759/cureus.62578
