$22bn dollars was invested globally in data centres during the first five months of 2024, with Europe seeing a bigger share of investments than ever. A recent report indicates that although North America led the way in 2024, accounting for 62% of data centre transaction values, Europe has advanced and taken a 29% share. Europe’s share has been rapidly increasing since 2022, demonstrating its growing importance in the global data centre market. And while 30% of European data centre investment has been invested in the UK over the last 5 years, France and Italy are now also becoming prominent data centre hotspots.
