Really enjoyed a few days Working at Height Safety training for 36 delegates. Work at height is often seen as just a checkbox for some businesses, or can be dismissed due to discomfort with safety gear, like harnesses. However, it's in these situations that workers can be most vulnerable. Face-to-face training, combined with industry-specific guidance and knowledge, effectively emphasises the importance of safety measures and prevention strategies.

Often times we believe we have knowledge about a subject because we learned it but we forget that whenever we don't practice our craft we forget even the little we think we know. As a "safety brand", I pride myself in speaking from a well informed perspective whenever I have to. This is because safety and reliability information is not just about enhancing safety and improving engineering processes but it's the kind of information that is meant to save lives and assets. So I always stay on top of my game by taking refresher courses so that I am able to solve every safety in engineering problem authoritatively and confidently. Is, Safety a priority or a value? Safety is a value, not a priority. Why? Because priorities change but values do not. If you come into work and plan to perform preventative maintenance on a machine. This is your number one priority for the day. But what happens if another machine breaks down? You would immediately need to change your priority and tend to the broken-down machine? So why would we ever want safety to be something that can be placed on the back burner depending on what we are doing or depending on how important a task is? You wouldn’t! Therefore, safety is a value, because values never change. Safety will ALWAYS be the most important factor to your work, no matter the job, no matter the importance of the task.

Safety and production: Which should be given more priority? I have seen many instances where safety is greatly compromised to meet production goals. The balance between safety and production is not just a challenge but an opportunity. Prioritising safety empowers employees, reduces the risk of accidents, and nurtures a positive work environment. When workers feel safe, their productivity soars, creating a thriving atmosphere. Meanwhile, focusing on production is key to meeting demands and achieving profitability, paving the way for sustainable growth. Ultimately, embracing safety elevates production, creating a powerful synergy.
