AyushPay has been recognised by Inc42 Media! Affordable finance has always been a major challenge for Indian patients. AyushPay is trying to bridge this healthcare divide with its unique bouquet of innovative products and services with an eye on reducing the financial burden on patients seeking good quality of treatment. A liver transplant today can cost anything between INR 18 and 36 lakhs, proton therapy around INR 30 lakhs and a heart or lung transplant around INR 30-40 lakhs. CAR T-cell therapy in India costs around Rs 40 lakh. Chronic conditions or major post operative complications can further queer the pitch for a family, when bills could mount exponentially overnight. It’s a war, no less in gravity than the ongoing conflicts globally with equally destructive potential! Full modality cancer treatments, other organ transplants and major surgeries are equally expensive, leaving little room for financial maneuvering in case of a dire need. Total healthcare expense in India is around $88 billion (treatments), 47% of which is Out of Pocket (OOP), which is abysmally higher than the OECD countries’ average of 20%. This is a huge burden on the hapless patients and drives many families into bankruptcy every year. Two thirds of our population still live in rural areas and have little or no access to basic healthcare delivery. Add to this the burden of OOP. Many families eschew treatment when a major ailment is detected for fear of bankruptcy. It’s a nightmare. I’ve personally seen many families suffer. I've tried to help many, but that's like a drop in the ocean. We in AyushPay are trying to solve this major challenge for a major part of our population, especially for those who are either totally uncovered by insurance or partially covered (low sum insured). Partnering with good providers completes the dynamic care loop.
