Are you thinking about landing a new role in 2025? Great! But here’s the kicker: according to Google (and some totally legit sources, we promise), it can take up to four months to get from "I’d love this job" to actually starting it. Yup, four months! Let’s break it down. If you send out applications in January, you might not actually start until April. Sure, the timeline might change based on the job, the salary, and how many interview hoops you’re ready to jump through. But why wait? The job market is fierce, and competition is hotter than your morning coffee. So, if a new job is in your 2025 plan, start looking now. Because, as they say, the early bird gets the worm—or, in this case, the job offer!

How I became part of a big problem: After sending out 500+ job applications, I had a realization: I was part of the problem. I happily followed the path of least resistance, spraying and praying: • Applying to as many jobs as I could • I felt productive • Got a nice dopamine hit • But long term it sucked. My self-worth went from 0 to -100. But let's also blame LinkedIn • They came up with "Easy Apply" • And "Auto-fill" • "Promoted Jobs" to monetize our desperation Hey, companies, you're guilty too: • Your job description suck! • AI-generated content that says nothing • No uniform structure, preventing scan-reading The main issue with all of this? 🤦 It's faster to apply than to read the job description. 𝗦𝗼 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝗽? No! I shifted my strategy and started looking for jobs that actually match my skills - and got way more responses. But this manual reading and matching takes a long time. That's why I built a tool that does the matching for me. I can now spend time applying to jobs that are worth my time, build human connections, and skip being a mismatch. If you're looking for a job, shoot me a DM. Your feedback will help shape the new features. #JobSearch #CareerDevelopment #BuildingInPublic #Foxjob.io

Job search is not fun. Answering the same questions on every application is annoying, especially in the current market, where over 80% of resumes end up in the trash before a human ever sees them, forcing applicants to mass-send resumes at a rate of 50+ per day. Work authorization, gender, race, veteran status, disability - answering these questions over and over again felt to me like an enormous waste of effort that really benefits no one. I got annoyed enough to almost start writing a Chrome plugin that would answer these questions once and for all. But then I realized that this pain is so obvious and widespread that surely some smart folks have already attempted to solve this nonsense. And sure enough, they had. To everyone out there being victimized and brutalized by the bureaucracy machine - https://simplify.jobs/ is here to relieve you from your pain. It's an absolutely free and super easy-to-use browser plugin that will ask you those eye-irritating questions for the last time. Voila, now you can fill out application forms with just one click! Huge thanks to Michael Yan and the Simplify team for making job searching a bit easier

I have noticed the algorithm for LinkedIn job search is a little wrong… When searching for job opportunities based off your skills (using the premium option) it can tell you, you are a top applicant even if you have 2 skills out of 10 skills needed for the role!? That needs correcting! As it’s really not helpful… I know the AI feature to see applicant/ job role compatibility is just a beta, but that also needs to be fixed and fast, for it to actually be helpful as the feature currently in beta mode isn’t functioning properly at all…
