#Cloudengineering #aws Do you schedule a gameday? No, not #NFL gameday but a dry run of Redundancy with your data, microservice and cloud backup enviroment. RPO(Recovery Point Objectives) / RTO (Recovery Time Objects) are important to develop in addition to a PoC(Proof-of-Concept). Many Cloud Providers offer FaaS and options to automate infrastructure provisioning (scale vertically or horizontally). It's better to know now if your architecture's redundancy works, than when your systems are down. (Image was taken from my AWS Environment)

#Serverless #AWSLAMBDA One of the major benefits of cloud computing is its ability to abstract (hide) the infrastructure layer. This ability eliminates the need to manually manage the underlying physical hardware. In a serverless environment, this abstraction allows you to focus on the code for your applications without spending time building and maintaining the underlying infrastructure. With serverless applications, there are never instances, operating systems, or servers to manage. AWS handles everything required to run and scale your application. By building serverless applications, your developers can focus on the code that makes your business unique. Serverless operational tasks The following chart compares the deployment and operational tasks in a traditional environment to those in a serverless environment. The serverless approach to development reduces overhead and lets you focus, experiment, and innovate faster. #AWSLAMBDAFOUNDATIONS

I'm no cloud expert, This is based on my common knowledge about conceptual aspect of Serverless implementation on different cloud providers. 🗒️ When to Consider a Serverless Architecture for Your Domain: - During peak times, only a small subset of your bounded context's functionality is typically used. - These peaks are often unpredictable and require high concurrency to handle the load effectively. - If this functionality were part of a server-based microservice, it would consume only a small portion of the resources necessary to run the entire service instance. - By implementing these peak-use functionalities as Serverless, you can drastically reduce execution time compared to the total startup time of a full server-based service. - Additionally, the needed functionality can be broken down into a manageable number of Serverless implementations, enhancing maintainability. It's easy to get caught up in the latest trends like microservices, distributed systems or cloud solutions. But is it really necessary to make every project so complex from the start?🤔 In our latest article, we share how we restructured the infrastructure of one of our projects. We went from a microservice-heavy architecture with 50+ services to a lean monolith. This shift reduced the infrastructure costs by 3-4x without sacrificing performance!⚡🚀 Read more on our Medium: https://bit.ly/4eQdKrk 🧑💻

🚀 Boost your Kubernetes scaling with KEDA! ⚙️ KEDA (Kubernetes Event-Driven Autoscaling) enables event-driven scaling in Kubernetes, dynamically adjusting resources based on real-time data and events. 📊 For data platforms that scale with ingested data, KEDA offers powerful benefits by automatically scaling workloads up or down based on custom metrics from sources like message queues, databases, and cloud services. 💰 This ensures efficient resource use, handling high loads seamlessly and reducing compute costs during low loads. KEDA makes managing fluctuating data rates simple and cost-effective.
