Great news for Yorkshire! 🚁 We’re excited to be working alongside Group Ginger and Yorkshire Air Ambulance for the new air ambulance facility in Skipton on Swale. We are working closely with the charity to deliver the full M&E and planning package. The new site will house two new helicopters, enabling the critical care team to respond to patients within 20 minutes. It is hoped that this added capacity will not only speed up emergency response times but also ease pressure on existing ambulance services in rural Yorkshire. Designed with sustainability in mind, the facility will be fully electrified with high efficiency heat pumps, VRF and heat recovery systems to achieve a top-tier energy rating and reduce carbon emissions. The building will be designed with critical life safety systems and a backup generator meaning the air ambulance volunteers can be on call no matter the conditions. This morning at 7:00 AM, the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) at Liberty Municipal Airport reported a chilly -12°C (10.4°F). The AWOS provides real-time weather data essential for aviation safety, including information on temperature, wind speed, and visibility. The installation of the AWOS, completed in the summer of 2021, marked a significant milestone for the City of Liberty. Funded by a $200,000 grant from the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), with 75% covered by the state and 25% by local match, the project received critical support from Memorial Hermann Life Flight. Their generous $50,000 donation covered the City’s local share, ensuring the project's success. Before this addition, pilots and air ambulances relied on weather data from Cleveland and Beaumont airports. Liberty's system enhances safety and accessibility for both aviation and emergency services in our community. As we experience these cold winter mornings, it’s worth reflecting on the investments that keep our infrastructure running smoothly—even in challenging weather conditions.

I read this post with deep pain inside me…. Organizations today are facing a growing challenge: balancing employee rights and personal freedoms with the need to maintain organizational values, principles, and philosophies. It’s worth reflecting on whether employee rights should come with limits when they clash with the essence of an organization. Should companies tolerate actions that potentially harm their reputation or the trust customers place in them? For businesses to thrive, there must be a balance between supporting employees and upholding the standards that define their identity. Without this balance, the risk is not just reputational damage, but the erosion of the very culture and principles that make organizations strong. My question to Diala is this? One we'd like to shout about today is London's Air Ambulance Charity London’s Air Ambulance is the charity that delivers an advanced trauma team to London’s most seriously injured patients. Using a helicopter from 08:00 to sunset, and rapid response cars at night or in adverse weather situations, London’s Air Ambulance brings the hospital to the patient when time is critical. They perform innovative and potentially life-saving procedures usually found in the emergency department on-scene. London's Air Ambulance Charity serve the 10 million people that live, work and travel within the M25, treating an average of five patients every day. We work with London's Air Ambulance Charity to provide them with a Direct Entry programme. These Adapt tests were followed up by our psychology team conducting Aviation Interviews, having them spend time with key individuals at LAA to understand their requirements for the role, conducting a detailed job analysis to understand the key skills and competencies required from pilots, above and beyond the ICAO core competencies, to ensure pilots would be a good fit for the nuanced charity and air ambulance operation.
