#NAW2024 It’s National Apprenticeship Week from 5th – 11th of February 2024, an annual, week-long celebration of apprenticeships and anyone involved with them. The week brings together businesses and apprentices across the country to shine a light on the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, businesses and the wider economy. The theme for this year is ‘Skills for Life’, reflecting on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career. We love that we get to be a partner with Apprenticeship 2.0. The latest episode offers some history on apprenticeship at the federal level and brings the conversation to teacher apprenticeship in Colorado. "In the second of Apprenticeship 2.0’s two-part series on institutions of higher education and apprenticeship degrees, Joe and Liz chat with Dr. Pam Eddinger, President of Bunker Hill Community College in Massachusetts, and Dr. Liz Qualman, Director of Teacher Education at Colorado Mountain College. Together, they discuss the U.S. Department of Labor’s Advisory Committee for Apprenticeship, how that committee is addressing needs to advance registered apprenticeships, how teacher apprenticeship programs are weaving social justice into the teaching fabric, how apprenticeship programs can serve as a key solution to the teacher shortage, and much more." It’s Apprentice Wednesday in National Apprenticeship Week and Billy Cope and I went along to the Year 13 assembly at Rayburn Valley High School to talk all things about apprenticeships. Billy is on his second apprenticeship with Lloyds Banking Group which is a great endorsement for the scheme - there is nothing better than an apprentice talking about their experience and remembering when they were in the same position as the school students. Sometimes you just need to allow yourself to imagine what could be next. #NAW2024 #AAN #LBGImagineWhatsNext

🎯 Stepped Outside My Comfort Zone: Public Speaking at My Old School! 📅 Last month, I had an amazing opportunity to go back to my alma mater, RMS, and speak to both current students and fellow alumni. Let me tell you, public speaking wasn't always my forte! But stepping outside my comfort zone was incredibly rewarding. 🌟 Sharing my experiences wasn't just about me – it was about leaving a mark. Connecting with those young minds, seeing their eagerness to learn, and realising the impact we can have as role models was truly special. ⁉ And guess what? I learned a lot too! Catching up with alumni, Ruby Williams and Lexie Crabtree, and seeing their journeys unfold was inspiring. There's so much we can gain by giving back to the community and younger generations. 📢 Calling all hesitant speakers! This is your sign to take the plunge. There are so many public speaking opportunities out there – schools, community events, mentorship programs. You have the power to inspire and connect. #PublicSpeaking #GivingBack #RMS #Community #GrowthMindset 💬 Let's keep the conversation going in the comments below! What are some ways you give back to your community?
What an inspiring panel of speakers at RMS for Girls apprenticeship Information Evening on Wednesday. Thank you Alison Moore from University of Hertfordshire for demystifying Degree Apprenticeships, and to our amazing alumnae apprentices; Ruby Williams (Savills), Joana Anderson Reyes (Google) and Lexie Crabtree (J.P. Morgan) - we are so proud of your well deserved achievements.
