Titles mean a lot. Claiming someone’s value is an amazing way to showcase appreciation. This year I have gained some new titles: Aunt & Godmother! So humbled and excited by each of these new or current roles and titles. It’s so interesting to consider your steps of preparation for transitions in titles and responsibilities. Both in life and at work! What are your key steps to preparedness for new titles or responsibilities? Guidance absolutely appreciated!! #rolesandresponsibilities #worklifebalance #seekinganswers

Came across a piece this week that tickled my 🧠both on a personal level (individual goals) and career wise (institutional goals). The only reason one may not achieve the goals set out…objectives and plans developed is the lack of *Consistent Action*. The magic bullet 🟰Action not just action but consistent action. Only then do we increase the ODDs of Success! So as we ensure productivity of the teams we lead…the children we raise…we must hold them accountable in terms of their *Action* that must be *consistent*. Only then will we have guaranteed success.

I went to a similar session with Marcus Child. Two things changed the agency and my behaviour. 1. Business related; A mission statement, written down values and a 3 year target we all buy into. We've done all since and they are written around the office. We all knew our mission, but writing it down ensures a reminder to the team and new starters alike. Meaning we are are always striving for a better Media Performance. 2. Personal related; "How are you?". Many of us answer "not bad". Well, that is 2 negatives...'not' and 'bad'. Change it to "I'm good thanks". Helps change your mindset. Okay, those who know me well, know I don't always follow the latter, but it has resonated and I do try. 😃
Personal power, confidence, wholeheartedness and courage are attributes that we should all aspire to. Members of our team attended a powerful session delivered by the leading motivational speaker Marcus Child. They left feeling excited, inspired and ready to push themselves and their teams with high quality energy, even in the face of highly demanding schedules. We encourage all our colleagues to dream big, achieve more and fulfil their potential, not just in their career but in all aspects of life.

What three words would you use to describe yourself? 🤔 Great way to spend a Friday morning as guest author for a Q&A with Katy Baggott as part of the Wildlife Trusts Learning at Work Week programme. 📕 The 3 words I went for are:- ‘Enthusiastic’ - I had this beaten out of me as a leader so I now choose to be enthusiastic 😀. I’m hardly Tigger & life in the real world yet if I choose to do something, why would I not be enthusiastic about it?! ‘Optimistic’ - I’ve been pessimistic & my God it’s a horrible existence. I believe in people & doing the right think so optimism is a no brainer for me. 🤞🏻 ‘Myself’ - people who describe themselves as ‘authentic’ usually aren’t that authentic!!! You are authentic in the hearts & minds of others. I also use this word as it’s taken me years to be confident enough to be myself & am now happy just being me - I can’t be anyone else. ♥️ Thank you for the opportunity Katy, great questions & laughs along the way. Rock n roll dream team 🎤 👞 A big part of what came out of the event was thinking about the reputation you really want to have with other people - what do you want people to say about you when you leave the room? #ItAlwaysStartsWithYou #AuthenticLeadership #LeadershipCoaching

Over the years, I’ve set countless goals for myself. Some I’ve smashed, and others… well, let’s just say they didn’t make it past January. But one thing I’ve learnt is that having people to hold me accountable makes all the difference. That’s why I’m starting an Accountability Group for 2025, and I’m looking for a few like-minded people to join me. This group will be a space where we can: 1. Meet regularly (online or in person—whatever works best) 2. Share our goals and progress, no matter how big or small 3. Challenge and support each other to stay on track 4. Celebrate the wins (and learn from the setbacks) It’s about more than just ticking off to-do lists—it’s about creating real change in our lives with the support of a group who gets it. If this sounds like something you’d be interested in, send me a message. Let’s make 2025 the year we don’t just dream but actually do. ☀️

𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. We don’t walk around work with our title and level floating above our heads. People respond to what you do and how you do it. If you want to get promoted start by acting like you’re already at the next level. With your actions. Don’t wait for others to treat you like you’re already there.

It's been one interesting year as I reflect on what has happened. Despite some of the turbulence, there were huge wins that came out of this year. Success isn't just picking up the loose ends and fixing "things" in our lives. It's about being able to get thorough the "things" you never have and learning while sharing that experience. My wish for the holidays: 1) Take that time to reflect and thank those that have helped you get though this year. 2)Be the leader you needed, for someone else, when you needed guidance the most. 3) Find a mentor as you will never stop learning 4) Be kind, listen with empathy and with the intent to assist, not resist and no judgement. 5) Share your journey and story You will be amazed at what value you can provide for those that may not yet have traveled the same path before. Merry Christmas and Happy new Year! See y'all on the other side!
