🔋 Join me at the March Excellence seminar "Na-ion and K-ion Chemistry for Sustainable Battery" hosted by Battery 2030+! 🔋 🌐I'm curious to see what unfolds in the realm of sodium ion batteries with all their promises and potential for a rise. Potassium ion batteries, on the other hand, are a whole new world for me, and I'm genuinely excited to explore this fresh territory. The recycling aspect, though still a way off, is what really catches my interest. There's something about the sustainability aspect that adds an extra layer of excitement, don't you think? #Battery #Batterie #BatteryRecycling
📢 Do not miss out on this Battery 2030+ Excellence seminar with the renowned Shinichi KOMABA from Tokyo University of Science, listen to his presentation on "Na-ion and K-ion chemistry for sustainable battery" and have the opportunity to engage in Q&A. 📅March 19th at 15:30 Register today, https://lnkd.in/dQsgMF7K

Meet the previously known Solomzi Marco Ngalonkulu, now Dr. Solomzi Marco Ngalonkulu. In his thesis, he tackled an exciting challenge: improving the thermal performance of heat pump drying systems. He designed and built an innovative air-source heat pump drying (ASHPD) system that operates in open, semi-closed, and fully closed loops. By studying how factors like weather conditions, refrigerant charge, air circulation speeds, and expansion device sizes impact performance, he found a way to boost efficiency and drying quality. His research proves that recovering waste heat and optimizing the system could greatly enhance overall performance, making drying processes smarter and more sustainable. Halala, Dr. Ngalonkulu!

📣Today we continue the series of posts by around the new OPEN ACCESS PUBLICATIONS from project PULSELiON. ➡ We present the journal article “Influence of the mixing speed in the rheology of NMC622-based Li-ion battery electrode slurries”, which has been published in volume 26 of the Journal of Power Sources Advances in April 2024. 📄 The work presents systematic experiments and 3D-resolved computations to investigate materials organization in slurries and in the resulting electrodes. Understanding the slurry rheology and the interaction of the formulation components is fundamental for further engineering electrode manufacturing and analysis of the dried electrode’s output properties. 👨🔬 👩🔬 A big thanks to the authors of this publication: Diana Zapata Dominguez (CNRS), Jiahui Xu (CNRS), Yasmina Boudjema (CNRS), Siwar Ben Hadj Ali (CNRS), Franco M. Zanotto (CNRS) and Alejandro A. Franco (CNRS). 🔗 Would you like to download and read the work? 🚀 I am pleased to share our recent work on "Characterization and quantification of multi-field coupling in lithium-ion batteries under mechanical constraints", published by the Journal of Energy Chemistry (JEC) as a cover article. We believe that battery multi-field coupling (electrical-thermal-mechanical) evaluation in accurate SOC and SOH estimation will attract more research on this topic. 💪
📢 Delighted to share that our paper, "Characterization and quantification of multi-field coupling in lithium-ion batteries under mechanical constraints," has been handpicked as the #cover #story for Volume 95 of the Journal of Energy Chemistry, Elsevier! 🎉 🔗 Open-access download: https://lnkd.in/eVg7DgU8 Thanks to all the contributors and the remarkable collaboration at CARL RWTH Aachen University for making this achievement possible! 🙌 #batteries #research #mechanical #characterization

founder of Touchwaves, expert in wearable electronics & materials science, inspiringfifty deeptech benelux award winner
It's incredible how polymers, like spaghetti on a plate, has revolutionized our daily lives. The viscoelastic theory of entangled polymers by The Nobel Prize laurate Pierre-Gilles de Gennes really caught my attention. Since, I have dedicated all my professional life to polymers, especially the ones with advanced functions to control interfaces, enhance structure, and manage touch and feel. To me, polymers is a fascinating matter. Maybe this is a typical Swedish thing? My compatriot Jöns Jakob Berzelius coined the term already in 1833. Still we had to wait almost another century for scientists to make the first materials. Leo Bakeland invented the first thermosetting phenol-formaldehyde resin in 1907, while Herman Staudinger dug deeper into the molecular nature of polymers, which he published in 1922. Then it took off; theoretical and practical understanding how to synthesize macromolecules and polymers, conductive polymer, bio-polymers. Let's keep pushing the boundaries of polymer innovation! 🌟🔬 #PolymerInnovation #MaterialEngineering #ScientificJourney
