The muscle-up is the gold standard of the gymnastics element of CrossFit. As a beginner Crossfitter, I remember watching in amazement as just a handful of athletes could do a muscle-up. But after weeks of hard work and dedication, I achieved my first muscle-up at CrossFit Peoria at the age of 53. Gymnastics may not be my strong point, and I may not be the most graceful athlete, but I refused to let my weakness hold me back. Every failure was just one more step on the road to success.
