Celebrate Every Milestone! In our fast-paced world, it’s all too easy to focus on what we haven’t accomplished rather than acknowledging the strides we’ve already made. We tend to be our own harshest critics, often overlooking the progress we’ve achieved, no matter how small it may seem. Every milestone—big or small—deserves recognition. Whether you’ve completed a project, learned a new skill, or simply made it through a tough week, take a moment to celebrate these accomplishments. Celebrating the 'slow wins' I'm results focused, but I'm allergic to the phrase 'Let's get some quick wins!' "Quick wins" can all too easily mean, 'let's avoid anything too challenging' or focus on what we really need to do, or 'don't bother to work properly with others.' For me, this is very different to the most excellent notion of failing fast - and celebrating failures is really important, as we often learn more from these experiences. As we head to this Christmas holiday period, I'm reflecting on how my stellar team has avoided the "quick" and delivered meaningful, connected, collaborative (often challenging) but sustained purposeful mahi that will make a long-term difference. TIME TO CELEBRATE! It’s important to pause and reflect on the progress we've made—both individually and as a team. - Professionally and personally too. In the hustle of day-to-day tasks, it’s easy to overlook how far we’ve come. This year has been full of challenges, wins, and growth, and it's essential to take a moment to appreciate our hard work and the strides we've made—personally and professionally. Whether it's new skills acquired, goals achieved, or moments of resilience, every step counts. As a team, we've collaborated, supported one another, and pushed toward shared goals. Together, we've achieved more than we might realise. As Robert Collier says: "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out." What are you most proud of in 2024? I wholeheartedly believe this and try to practice it…and even better than fun is enjoyment. A task or activity can be enjoyable and fun and still be work. My degree is in journalism, the way that has transferred to my sales career and even the way I sales coach is in being curious! I’m not actually a Sales Coach, I’m a Detective! It shows up in the way I enjoy the discovery phase when meeting with a new prospect or even the way I approach prospecting. “WHAT can I find out” “WHERE else can I look, have I used all the resources and tools available to me to learn more about the prospect” “WHO do I know that may know the prospect that can give me insights” I will happily go down the rabbit hole and its fun to ME. One of my first questions when I’m coaching a rep is to ask them what aspect of the role/industry they enjoy…what about the job do they consider to be fun…this is a great foundation for understanding not just what motivates them but what may be missing from the team or company culture! Five Years of Growth, Challenges, and Gratitude. Today marks the five-year anniversary of our firm, and I’ve been reflecting on what this journey has taught me. It’s been incredibly rewarding, but also one of the most challenging experiences of my life. Building something from the ground up isn’t for the faint of heart. Every milestone comes with lessons, and today I want to share three of the biggest ones I’ve learned over the past five years: 1. We are nothing without our people and our culture. Everything flows from our team and the core values we all embody. I’m constantly reminded of how fortunate we are to have such a talented, patient, and committed group of people who have stood by us as we navigate growth and learn from our many mistakes. We would be nowhere without our team. 2. Delivering the ultimate client experience is mission critical. Our clients trust us during some of the worst times of their lives, and we owe them nothing short of our best. Every day, we strive to demonstrate to our clients, and our community, that we are constantly working to deliver an exceptional experience. For us, this means going beyond guiding clients through the legal process—it’s about being a source of comfort and support during some of life’s most challenging moments, even when the issues extend beyond the law. 3. Building a business and a brand takes a lot time and energy, and it never ends. Growth isn’t a destination; it’s a journey that requires continuous trust, effort, and reinvention. Earning the trust of the people we serve is not a one-time event, it’s something we work at every single day. To Keith Vona: thank you for being an amazing partner and always having my back. To our team: thank you for believing in our vision, and bringing your best every day. To our clients and our community: thank you for trusting us and allowing us to grow alongside you.
