🎰 MEG's Casino: The Importance of Extracurricular Activities in Strengthening Trust and Team Cohesion 🌟 In today's competitive business world, efficiency is essential. However, beyond technical skills and productivity, cohesion and trust within the team can set a company apart. Extracurricular activities play a crucial role in fostering these values. Extracurricular activities provide a relaxed environment for employees to interact genuinely. These interactions outside the office help colleagues understand each other better, appreciating strengths, weaknesses, and communication styles. They show that the company values its workers not just for their tasks but as individuals. They're a valuable investment for building a strong team. By promoting trust, boosting morale, and enhancing teamwork, these activities benefit employees and create a more collaborative work environment. Cohesion and trust are essential for great companies, and extracurricular activities are key to consolidating these values.🌟💼🤝

Wowzers! It’s been a whirlwind few weeks. I am working on projects that I know have the potential to unlock greatness in our store colleague population. But these things take time ⏰ Whilst they are taking shape I was able to revisit my facilitation roots last week! 🌱 I don’t facilitate as often as I used to and I was reminded of the joy it brings me to take a group of people on a journey. To facilitate their discussion and learnings is always so rewarding 💚 So what was the occasion I hear you ask ❓ Last week saw us launch our FIRST EVER Immersion Event for new colleagues joining our Retail Op’s and Property teams. 🙌 This day forms an important part of their induction. We believe knowledge is power and in a business as vast as ours it really helps to know Who’s Who and the work they do. 💡 We could have just given them structure charts and team profiles. But instead we bought the work to life. It was an opportunity for discussion, questions, and connection. 🤗 The human element of this day was so integral to its success. 100% of the attendees and the guest speakers would recommend it to a new starter! 🥳 Not bad! But we AIM HIGHER! And so the iteration begins ready for the next Event in August. 💥 Setting up colleagues for success isn’t a privilege. It is absolutely fundamental! 🙌 Fancy working for a business that takes your experience and development seriously? Absolutely, trust is the foundation of genuine connections and long-term success, both personally and professionally. Think about it: When you trust someone, you feel comfortable being yourself around them, you believe in their intentions, and you're more likely to collaborate and communicate openly. This is true in any relationship, whether it's with friends, family, or colleagues. For instance, in the business world, trust is essential for effective teamwork and collaboration. When team members trust each other, they're more willing to share ideas, take risks, and support one another. This creates a positive work environment where everyone feels valued and motivated to do their best. Trust is also crucial for building strong relationships with clients and customers. When people trust your company, they're more likely to remain loyal, recommend your products or services to others, and forgive any occasional mistakes. So, building trust is definitely a long-term investment, but it's one that pays off in countless ways. And just like any investment, it requires patience, consistency, and genuine effort to nurture over time. Thank you for sharing Victoria Marvelous Udoh and nice to meet you again.

Blurring Work and Play: What’s Your Take? The year has kicked off, and alongside all the business challenges ahead, I’m especially looking forward to one of my favorite events: our team ski trip end of Jan! It’s a tradition that started years ago, initiated by one of my predecessors (Mark, Jeroen or Sander credit to them!). What makes it special is that it’s entirely voluntary, on our own time and at our own expense, yet the majority of the team always joins in, even our interns. What makes this trip so unique is how seamlessly work and personal life blend when you have trust, teamwork, and a lot of fun. On the slopes, we’re not just colleagues; we’re a team in the truest sense of the word. The bonds we build here carry over into the workplace, strengthening how we collaborate and perform. At Unilever, we often talk about building strong teams and fostering trust, and this trip embodies those principles. It’s a reminder that great teams aren’t just built in meeting rooms; they’re built wherever people come together, having fun and sharing experiences. This connection between personal and professional lives makes me reflect on a broader question: Should work and personal life remain strictly separate, or can they overlap when there’s trust and shared purpose? I’d love to hear your perspective! Thanks for organizing this year's trip Lisa, Britt, and Sander 🙏 #Teamwork #Trust #Leadership

Leaving a job and transitioning to a new company may appear straightforward, but the reality is far more complex. Departing from cherished colleagues and mentors is truly challenging. There's a blend of excitement and apprehension about starting afresh—new location, unfamiliar expectations, and uncertainties about performance. In such times, offering positive vibes to departing colleagues can greatly impact their journey. Similarly, extending a welcoming environment to newcomers is crucial, allowing them the space to settle in comfortably. #CareerTransition #NewBeginnings #PositiveVibes
